How Hot Is It?

I've been planning a May trip, hoping the moon and stars all line up so it actually happens. Never been to Chiang Mai so I was planning on spending a few days to start it off. I've been all over Southern Thailand so I was looking forward to seeing some of the sites around CM.

I've been seeing that the temperature has been very consistantly over 100 degrees lately. That has got to be very uncomfortable. I see that May starts to cool off a little but how bad is it?

Its so hot that...

The cool off happens once some of the rains kick in.. Usually by mid may thats happening a little..

And yes.. The last few weeks have been really hot.. Bad news if you have to do anything in the day.. I am looking forward to it dropping off a bit..

Over Songkran, it wasn't hot. Actually cold with the water.

Last year I got so hot I really didn't feel good and I'm used it it. Wood was hot to touch like a sauna, even when not in direct sunlight. It certainly can feel hotter in Chiang Mai than it ever does in Phuket. The ocean isn't regulating the temperature of course. At night it still cools off ok.

If you go during the winter months than it is cooler than phuket.

I'm coming up to train muay thai there in a week, so hopefully it won't be super hot.

The temp was down to 90 today, a lot more manageable than 100. It must be like a heat wave that they regularly have.

Not on Chiang Mai, but my GF near Udon is complaining for the past few days that in her area it is very hot as well. She is however, not really good in mentioning the temperature exactly. When I checked on internet yesterday, I saw it was there 38 C. Pffffff.... I hope it cools down a bit next month.

Anybody have an idea when it start to rain in her area?
