Pics of Chaing Mai Sept 07
Here are some pics I took while in Chaing Mai this year. I had a good time exploring and recommend a short 3 day visit to anyone who hasn’t been before
1: Wachiratharn Waterfall
2, 3, 4, 5, : Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep - Believed to be a Sacred Temple

And a few more pics. During my next trip I will definitely be doing the elephant riding, bamboo rafting and quad biking. 55555 This trip was very mellow and relaxed
1, 2 : King & Queen Pagadas
3: Sirithan Waterfall
4: Path to ....
I noticed that they where putting escalators up to both the Pagodas. IMO this is a waste of money, time and energy and will end up being an eye sore.

Very nice pics.
Chiang Mai will be my first stop now in November. I was there in February and really liked the place. Very relaxed but still quite a lot to do. And beautiful TGs naturally
I can very much recommend the elephant-village you missed. Hands down the best elephant-related activity I've seen in LOS.
I'll reckon I'll stay for 5 days or so before my cravings for Patong and a little more action becomes to great.

Thanks for sharing your pictures. I spent 6 days in the Chiang Mai area this past April. I stayed in the "Old City" and loved it! Very easy to get around and a lot of things to see. I still love Phuket and Patong Beach but Chiang Mai and the surrounding areas will be visited by me more often in the future.

It's official, I don't need to venture outside the bar scene now that you have posted great pics of what I have missed. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the piccies Oasis, gf has always wanted to go for a visit there, elephant country it`s noted for i heard.
After Pattaya and Patong it`s good to see the " real " Thailand
I saw part of that last year in Loei district up in Isaan so Chiang Mai is a must see for the future.

Very nice pics thank you for sharing.
I was there also last sept. and enjoyed the place very much. Posted a lot of Chiang Mai pics in here: http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/re... Djn2Bj0l-3KQ
I am sure you will recognise many places. And for the elephant riding, rafting and trekking thing... it's heavy but very rewarding and I can recomment it very much.
Cheers,
Raval

Looks like you had a good adventure in LOS. Don't know when I'll be back to CM but when I go I'll definatley be doing the more active things. For my next trip to LOS I'll be relaxing in Phuket for a few weeks around April/May 08.
Cheers

Nice pictures Oasis. Thanks for posting.
Last time I was up there was about 13-14 years ago and like the area.
I must say that I find Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep one of the most impressive temples, I have seen so far. Also the view from up there is really worthwhile.

I love the peacefull feeling you get up at Doi Suthep. I am going in april to celebrate the new year. I cant wait to see what its like.
I took some pictures to have a look at this. Ignore the "I can arrange this that the other, its for work mates" and a private web site with no links www.thailandadventures.co.uk some pictures of where I have been. All safe. Chaing Mai, Bangkok, Phuket

Never tried with any university girls, but there is a decent bar scene. You might have to look a little longer than in Pattaya or Patong for the real stunners, but they do exist. Also most bars are generally not very crowded, or as the TGs themselves say "always low season in Chiang Mai". There are also some ok go-go's.
The only clubs I've been to are Spicy and Bubbles, neither impressed me much.

Hi Judge
CM was lovely , the weather was perfect , the people are kind there , but the bar scene ... well its nothing in compare to BKK or Phuket or PATTAYA.
They are short on supply as the demand is low there.
" Always low season in CM " Gems can be found but you have to dig deep.
As for gogos ... well the only one worth a visit was Star Six as for the rest
Spicy club is where the bar girls goes after closing hours , mainly Spicy club = Mating ground
As for Bubbles well its relatively new place with good sound system and the DJs there are prof ;N.B: the place is crowded with gay couples and LBs.
All in all CM is a nice chill out place ,3 days there were more than enough!

Nice pics there, was there last year, and like said the nightlife obviously doesnt compare to the main places but its a good place to relax and see a bit of the real Thailand so to speak. Very beautiful but 3 days i think is enough before you start getting the shakes to go back to patts or patong.

I'll be in Thailand in May, been to BKK, Pattaya and Hua Hin before and this time heading to Phuket for a week or so (most possibly accompanied with Thai GF).
But I was thinking of a few days trip to CM (that is if I can get some free time from the fatal attraction TGF !?). There are two reason for CM, first I hear there are a lot of nice things to see/do. The second (possibly more important) is that I'm told (and seen a few down south) that CM girls are very cute AND much whiter skin than normal BGs down south from Isaan. Is this true about the girls ? Or are the BG/P4P that I can get without any lingo and in a few days would be probably the same as down south ?
