Masterpiece: My Asian City - Part 1 of 4
Aung Myo Mint lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand, a city near the border with Burma with a complex multicultural population. He's breathed in its ancient flavours for many years but is also a fan of its thriving modern music scene. From the back of a tuk tuk taxi, he guides listeners around his city and reveals what makes it tick.

UPDATE: Not so interesting. Billed as a view of Asian cities by foreigners who live their, Chiang Mai's 'foreigner' was a Burmese guy - not so foreign from our point of view perhaps who had little to say about the city other than it was better than Burma (duh?!). Mentioned the night bazaar and the gay nightlife venues (guess which way he swings..?). More about a Burmese gay in CM than CM itself.
Hope the rest of the cities ae more interesting, inluding Jakarta and DARWIN. Funny, never really thought of Darwin (right at the northern tip of Australia) as an Asian city, but I suppose it is really...
Cheers,
K.
