Sorry - I don't know about wannadoo. Maybe their web site has some info on it.
In general, having a home network nothing to do with you're DSL provider: some say that you shouldn't do it, or claim you can only do it their way... but in practice, there is not a lot they can do to detect it. Some providers do "recommend" certain types of equipment, and have a discount/partnership/sales agreement. But equally, you could buy the kit from you're local Staples
Cheers

Thanks - do you have the link to web address?
@Happywanderer, thanks for hint, I'll check out prices against an independent computer supplier (backstreet but legitimate).

I've now updated avg antivirus, I've run Hitman and now I'm going to get avast.
Can someone explain broad band to me (I've just got it installed). I was on the internet and my phone rang and I could talk on it. I've also noticed that there does not appear to be dialling involved in order to get connected.
I had problems with rogue diallers at one time and have got BT to jam all premium rate calls from my phone. Do I still need to have this in place?

For as long as you have a (working) phone line plugged into you're computer, you need this.
The rogue dialler-programs don't say "this person has a broadband connection, so I won't do won't try to rack up a massive phone bill like my creators want", they say "yummie! a dial tone: let's go!"
DISCONNECT THE PHONE CABLE WHEN YOU ARE NOT USING IT.
ok, Rant more off.

You are experiencing the beauty of Broadband now Gez.
The whole idea of another modem for ADSL is it frees up your phone line.
As Steve says what you had before you have got now. Just make sure you unplug your old modem from the telephone line and reconnect the phone plug.
That will stop rogue diallers accessing your pc.

If you have an up to date copy of AVG anti virus running on your PC you have no need for Avast. Its only another free antivirus software programme.
