Anti-Virus Software?

Well my Norton's Anti-Virus has gone tits up, Its expired about 5months ago and I never got around to renewing it, But yesterday I turned on my Pc and it cant find the drivers to load or something, And its disabled and will not enable and just says restart Pc, Which I did but still the same, And I cant log into my msn account because of this aswell, Just comes up 2attempt, 3rd..4th etc.... And then says try again later so now I have to use Internet explorer which I hate using

This happened to me the last time I didnt renew it, So I deleted the program and bought a new one which worked perfect, Only problem is now dont wont to be forking out another 100euro before my Xmas/New Year tour, Want to wait until I get back...

So does anyone have any links to free anti-virus software that will do me until after my tour?

Thanks for any help you can give guys...

This is a nice one too, scans active for 14 days but keeps on working after that in manual scan. Biggest pro is that it scans for trojans, spyware and other pests and is quite good at it. Give it a spin you'll be amazed at the crap it can find.

Thanks guys,

But I have one more problem, Just noticed my Internet Security is down aswell...

Can I download free Internet Security or will I be better off just buying Nortons now instead of waiting until I come back?

I assume you are talking about a firewall for internet Ally?

If so try Zone Alarm, its a freeware programme and can be adjusted to suit your preferences. Easy to use and automatic updates are free.

Once again you can get it here http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0....=16&search.y=6

I use Sygate personal firewall and its very good, you can download this free copy here

I never trust or recommend free stuff when it comes to virus or firewall software.

Virus have always used Nortons and firewall use BlackIce.

Well I give up, My Pc is working fine now, And is running faster than before but still cannot log into MSN, So cannot check my emails etc...

Also tryed to delete Norton's Internet Security and Antivirus but cannot, It says something about I have to Log in... But when I try to log in, I cant as the key will not let me click on it...

It says something about needing Superviser Authorisation from Symantec but I cant Log in to get it............Arrrrgggghhhhh

So I give up... When I come back from my tour I will save all my pics onto a cd, And music onto the Ipod.... And then just reboot the Pc and start again...

I will lose my stash of porn and other things but just do not have the patience or enough knowledge about computers and how to fix it... So no choice

No, its an anti-virus with advanced spyware, trojan and the likes removal.

As a free firewal I would recomend Zonealarm. You can get the free and/or the paying version at:

I normally prefer to use Linux = no virus problem.

But else with Windows I have used Antivir over long time, it's free and works fine, check out http://www.free-av.com/.

When i used AVG it would detect a virus but let it through, so you then had to quickly run the whole detection thing to get rid of it.
Find Avast to be much better.
For anti spyware stuff - a combination of "spyware blaster", "spybot search and destroy" and ad-aware does the job.
