iPod Nano?

I'm thinking of buying an iPod Nano to take with me when I'm going for my holiday to Phuket, but I'm not sure if theyre any good, as I'll not have a computer over there. I'm going for three months so I'll need something. Cany anyone suggest a better or recommend the iPod?

If for 3 months I would want more music than can fit on a nano.. Just my opinion..

Why not just get a standard iPod, I'm guessing you should probably be looking for 5Gb+ storage.

5GB !! Personally I am waiting for a bigger storage solution.. Have 80GB of just essential mixes.. Probably about 150GB in total music..

When they make a 200GB Ipod I am buying..

Well I was also looking at a Creative Zen.. they have around 20gb of storage, and you dont need software to use them on public computers. But I'm not sure still.

To say you dont need SW is a little odd as you need to load it with MP3's which needs SW to dowload or rip from the CDs

unless you carry round DVD's with all your MP3's on. Still 20Gb is probably more than enough music for 3 months.

If a 20Gb player is fine for you then I recommend the Sony NW-HD5. Sweet little player, good sound quality and has the following two benefits over an iPod:

1. It has a battery that will last between 25-30hrs on a single charge - very good, iPods do not get close, their batteries are shite. And it's removable so if it does go dead on you, you can just plug another straight in and not have to send it to Apple to be replaced $$$$$

2. It's not an iPod I fookin hate the things, had 3 different models and found them awful, crap sound and as I have said batteries are next to useless after a couple of months.

Have 3 friends with the Sony and they are all happy 4/5 months later. Creative's are OK too, was happy with the one I had before until I left it on the train after a few too many after work

As long as the sony doesnt limit itself to its own crap proprietary format, I can get 8 hours or so on my PSP, with Video so 20 hours for just music isnt so great IMO.

The newer Sony's will now play mp3's directly on the unit, and will not convert them to ATRAC when you transfer. Apparently they were not selling enough players so had to change their ways.

Ipod Video 30 gig and 60 gig

Last month I bought a black Ipod video, 30 gig model. It's pretty neat and will hold more music than I even have. I haven't tried the video aspect of it yet, but supposedly you can download entie shows.

I have the 20 gig model and have loaded every CD and photo I have and still have 18 gig left. Best thing I've bought in a long time!

If use use ATRAC you get (slightly)better battery life and can also fit more music on (compared to MP3).
Now if only they make Sonic Stage a bit more user friendly .....
