Got an email from my ISP today, that my 12,000kbps connection has just been upgraded to 24,000kbps. I just activated the faster speed so will be interesting to see what I actually get out of the connection.

Before on the 12,000kbps I clocked the line at around 8,400kbps.

To get the most of it you maybe need to buy a new quality router/modem, I have many friends in Sweden who also got 24Mbit connection and with a slow router there will not be much difference.

I am sure you are excited, I still have only 512Kb and I would dream about having faster speeds.

10x what I get..

Though I also got a letter staing I now am eligable for a free biz account.. Wont make it faster than 1Mb but should lower the contention ratio..

You get a lot more in Rio. I got up to 56 and free...

Nope, just a firmware upgrade, will do it tomorrow. How much porn can you download in a month??

I suspect your confusing 56kbps and 56mbps..

I would bet dollars to doughnuts that your not getting 56mbps in rio on a normal consumer account..

Heres what my router is showing at the moment

Data Rate Downstream: 19214 kbps
Data Rate Upstream: 1023 kbps

Obviously I dont expect to get anywhere near that
