Google Problem

Everytime i type in a website address the google search bar seems to pop up even when it's the correct address ie hotmail.
Is there some where to stop this happening.
It's starting to annoy me now.

Not sure why that should happen, but I do hate when I mistype a URL and the browser jumps to a search page denying me the opportunity to edit my own typo. Therefore I disable searching from the address bar in IE:

Tools > Internet Options... > [Advanced] > Scroll down to the section "Search from the address bar" and select the "Do not search from the address bar" option.

This will deal with the symptom but maybe not the underlying cause.

(Just a thought: you're not typing URLs into the Google search bar instead of the IE address bar are you... I've done that occasionally inadveretantly before )

Thanks for the reply.
I think i've sorted it now.
On microsoft internet explorer just turned on the pop up blocker first time had to use, did not know google use popups, thought my norton protector would have stopped it.

My Google Toolbar never open any new windows or popups, if I search for something it use the current window ofcourse.

If something open new windows it could be spamware/spyware that has been installed without you knowing about that.
