Yeah saw this recently.. And yeah did Betamax not teach them anything..
though I think porn is so much more internet related than the lack of availability back in the first days of the VCR..

Sony have always tried to plough their own furrow and be different. I think sometimes they have to backtrack - they dropped memory sticks in favour of SD cards in their new DSLR camera.
I guess the internet is a good point, how much porn is delivered in hard copy as opposed to downloaded these days?

Also back then the VCR was the first way you could see porn that wasnt on blue movie theaters or home projection etc.. Now its easily available..
But yeah sony have a history of good products badly managed.. Minidisc anyone ?? AAC ??

myself nearly all my blue movies are vcr and not dvd find searching on dvd takes too much time and real pain in the ass(please no jokes )

I think media based stuff is just plain shite, I hate going through DVDs, cds etc... , nothing beats the pleasure of having 1TB of avis on directly accessible on yer box

you can d/l porn but to d/l HD quality DVD is about 35 gig and you can't always get good d/l speed. IF blu-ray wins it would be very bad for buying films (although Sony are in partnership with other companies with bluray) Sony seems to be in control and like to dictate prices. Also Sony's UMD format died as it very expensive & crap.
From what I read Blu-ray players is very expensive while HD-DVD players are cheaper (half the price)
