Windows Vista
Has anyone used the new Windows Vista O/S?
I have been using it for a couple of weeks now, on a new computer, and it seems to have a lot of gadgets but no real substance to it!!!
Also, they have made it just that little bit different that programs, such as camera and games, don't work quite as well as they did before!! And unless you book yourself in as the system administrator, it will not let you do many things, such as import photos to Windows Picture Gallery to edit photos!!!
Anyone else had these problems, and if so is there a way around them??

For what their selling the upgrade for, I for one wont be rushing out to buy it. Get yourself a hold of this months Australian PC User magazine, there's a really good write up in it.

I have been using it on my home desktop for a couple of weeks.
Not impressed and regret i spent that money on Vista Ultimate.
Some of the games cant even run on it. They just crash.
Spent money upgrading the Memory also.
ArGH!!!!

I used the beta for a while (had a HD corruption and so back on my XP partition) and agree that it seems to me to be a style over substance upgrade..
But as I have the corporate keyserver downloaded I wont be buying anyway !!

Exactly why I'm not upgrading. Plus XP SP2 working just fine for me. Vista is the biggest nothing launch in Microsoft's history. I have yet to see one good reason to upgrade.
And for having to upgrade your system, I think the apple ad puts it best.
