I am looking for a service to upload some pics.. Mostly to send links to family and the like..

I like the look of Pbase but see it wants money after 30 days trial.. I really dont want to have another paid for service nickel and diming me to death (I have way too many hosts and things.. I really need to consolidate some of these) and basically I am cheap !!

I saw photobucket but its not as attractive as PBase in layout etc. I am also pretty tempted to just use vGallery or imagevue on my own host but am kinda lazy and just want a dump for holiday snaps to send link..

Anyone have a really nice service ?? Something I have missed ??

For a real basic approach, i've seen people use blogger. Even my GF can build up a basic site with pics and comments and she is non-tech.

I use Imageshack www.imageshack.us and Flickr.com both are free if you don't overuse the systems

Thanks Coolhand. I was having a mental block on Flickr. They have some advanced features that are very cool.

If you already is in a situation where you have to have a hosting service for at least one domain you may want to consider one of the hosting services that gives you multiple domain services and huge amount of storage for a relative low fee. Personally I use Lunarpages and get up to 10 domains hosted with 250GB of storage for 6.95 per month. In addition this service comes with unlimited email accounts, free registration for your main domain and much more.

If you are only looking for storage, you can likely find that for free, but as a complete solution this is a great deal and their support is great.

I have loads of hosting.. I kinda wanted something to just upload and forget.. Also I kinda want to seperate out some safe for family and notso / nightlife and if thats linked to my domain names (main one which is exactly my real name) thats not clever.. Can password with vGallery I guess..

Imageshack is nice to upload pics for simple posting.. Theres a rt click applet for that site also.. Not very nice gallery look tho..

Flikr is a bit like photobucket. Its ok.. just doesnt look cool.. PBase looks nice but costs.. Awkward bugger aint I ??

Actually add-on domains have no links (other than the fact they are physically on the same server). To the person browsing eash appear completely as their own site. They even feature individual FTP.

Sub domains or parked domains on the other hand are tied directly to the parrent domain.

With Flikr you can set permissions on who can see what photos. You can also geocode the images against google maps.

Even dont want to link MyName.com onto the forum as I rather separate my name from my forum handles..

I tend to think ANYTHING you post to the web is archived and there to haunt you later..

If you mean another domain name just for my pics (as I think you do) thats just another damn domain to pay and keep.. God knows how many I have already.. Some I let expire, others I keep, all a pain in the **** really and more hassle than I want for just some pics to send a link to family.

I would use Flickr I think, it may not be cool but it is free and that's a pretty good price

I use Fotoalbum, Gratis Online! Uw Digitale Foto's in een Online Fotoalbum bij Mijn Album! its free and you get half a GB diskspace. But i can inmagine its a bit hard to navigate if you don't speak dutch.

They said it's a 30 days subscription, but I still can create albmums, upload and share pix after 8 months ?
