I am using Concise Oxford Dictionary, not for spelling but to check out words I am not sure about. But may also be good for spelling.

Something like this??
burg /tmp:> $ echo unfortunatelly | ispell
@(#) International Ispell Version 3.2.06 08/01/01
word: how about: unfortunately
burg /tmp:> $ dict unfortunatelly
No definitions found for "unfortunatelly", perhaps you mean:
gcide: Unfortunately
wn: unfortunately
moby-thes: unfortunately
burg /tmp:> $ machine
SuSE Linux 9.1

oopss... you do have a wonderful machine in front of you (xp probably) but the engine is a little bit bad nah? Make the switch to Linux now. The bargirls will also admire you when you say: "I use Linux". Wintendo is dead, long time already, Linux will be the OS of the future (for the next 10-15 years for sure) and it deserves it. Difficult? Even my grandma (she is 75) can install it.
Oh,did I mention already that it's free, security patches will normally take 12-48 hours, no viruses, malware, spyware and that we have a lot of excellent software available?
One day, sooner or later, you will move to Linux, and you will love it. So try it now... it won't cost you a cent, only time.
But if you want to drive a Mercedes with a Skoda motor and you are perfectly happy, stay with Wintendo.

Those three are quite good for a number of reasons. Worth a look.
Try a Google-search on "dictionary" and you'll find heaps.
...or... just do a Google-search on whatever word you are unsure about. Try it.

I have Concise Oxford Dictionary version 9 from a magazine cover CD that I can make available for you you download (25MB) if you have broadband. dates from Win 95 era but works with XP if you install from safe made. It no-longer integrates with new Word versions.

If you are working from your own computer, and don't mind American spelling -- at m-w.com they have a toolbar addition that is handy for checking words, thesauras, etc.. but of course it doesn't spell check a post.

That's ridiculously funny, I'm going to try that one.
So you are saying it will protect me from viruses?
