Thumbs up Brilliant !! Im now an Expat !!!

Hi Guys,

Imagine my surprise when I logged on to the forum, to find out that I now owned some real estate in Patong!!!

Sorry HJ, as much as I would like it to be true, I have not as yet even had a holiday in Patong since xmas, never mind bought a shagging pad

Maybe in a year or two.

Oh, I also thought that Schmeezerweezeroony, or whatever you llike to call him on any given day, actually answered Rex777's question. The question was "Is it possible to get insurance?" and Schmeen told him "Yes. Try a web search".

As to answering is anybodies stuff safe, well nobody knows that. We could be have our homes robbed when we go out to the local store for 5 minutes. I certainly havent heard of a lot of robberies in the promised land, but im sure it goes on like anywhere in the world.

Take care,

Homeless in Patong

Dear Ex Pat

Sorry Duke of Dirt....I thought that you posted that you hade one apt and were staying home for the year to buy a few more over Christmas. Anyway...good luck in your investment.

When I was looking last year the same deal (scam) that goes on in Hawaii was offered....Buy a unit, stay when you like and there will be a slight negative cash flow depending on the touism business....I gather that FFF has a unit on a similar program.....
Most were in High Rise Cont Hotels in Patong Proper, although I 'm sure there are many else where to be found. I was looking at a unit in the Kalim Bay/Residence and at a prospectus on the project across from the snake farm and near the elephants on the way out of Patong to Kata/Karon. I like Kalim but the numbers didn't look right and now I suppose I was lucky with the way things went bad for Patong.
You are all on target, if your looking down the road buying is a good thing...For me I'm already down the road and the 60-90 USD (depending on the season) I pay a day for my room is ok with me and headache free. My pals with whom I rent in Naklua with are on the same plane, we each pay 400USD per month for a two level 3.5 bedroom house with a pool and live in house lady. None of us care or need the investment and just like it headache free! If something doesn't work we just call the property mgr on a mobile and it will be fixed that day!
I suppose if I were in need of investments I'd have a place considering what I spend each year at my hotel!
