BG learing English

For a farang to learn thai you can buy the expensive rosetta CD's and other language course CD's....or just get by with the BG handbook

Do you expats living in Thailand know of an equivalent language CD for Thai to learn English ? Do the local computer shops have them ????

TIA

H3X

damn.. can't even spell learning myself !!!!

Send her to classes... A structured setting gets them working on it..

The one b1tch about it is that the girls all have farang boyfriends and as typical Thais need to assert status over each other to gain face, and as a group of equal (low social standing) women immediately launch into.. My boyfriend just bought me xx baht of gold.. Well my boyfriend just bought me a moto-cy.. well my boyfriend makes such and such money.. We live in a house thats xxxx, I have xx sponsors, I am this successful.. I am etc..

I have been told this by 3 different 'honest' girls who all say its a major b1tch fest in there..

if you are around her enough or speak frequently to her on the phone, dont be afraid, if shes not offended to help her with her english.
mine was self-taught by talking endlessly on the phone and constantly asking me questions.
i cant even belive how she writes english when she sends SMS.

Thanks guys

I will take an old pentium II notebook with me and leave it at her house. If such software is readily available as you say then for sure we'll find it in Udon Thani next week.

Marc26, yes we talk regular on the phone (via skype as i'm in Libya) , but when we start talking a bit more in depth , often she says , 'sorry tilak don't know english word' . Thats when she needs some assistance and I thought of a language CD as they usually have a Theasaurus and Dictionary available.

Also her reading of English is very good, as she did go to school.

BTW I cannot send International SMS via my Libyan mobile so found a good site for that at www.clickatell.com if any other BM's are limited by their 'foreign' PTT.

The same thing happens with hairdressing school/courses, full of ex-bargirls *****ing to each other about how much their boyfriends send them each month.

pantip plaza

H3X buy some language software at pantip plaza if you have time, go to the 2nd floor and there is several shops selling that type of software.(original and non)

In udon i checked out the local shops for software, the 1 in the book shop in the mall is quite good, but imho buy at pantip on your way up to the udon, if you have time.

i told my gf if she or her cousins need software for university to tell me and i will order from pantip for them, a lot cheaper than in the udon.
