I meant a job as bar staff in the bar where the owner cant even pass a beer.. This is what I have been trying to tell all along.. These guys (presumably) have a B visa (through owning the company of the bar) but cannot get a work permit for that activity..

In general terms i agree with you
but my general advice is take the time to study the terms of your let and the licence for the bar
If you take the original licence for Love Bar as an example, it has allocated seating inside. This is clearly designated in the plan for the bar, which forms an integral part of the licence, so ergo an owner or customer can sit or stand inside the bar without problem.
The terms of the lease should stipulate what requires to be maintained and who is respobsible for enuring the terms of the let are adhered to and of course if you have a thai company then as a direcor you have the right (without) work permit to oversee and direct your business. Just make sure you are meeting all you other statutory obligations!!!!!
If the bar is in ur GF name i.e. the licence and the lease then ur up a gum tree, make sure you're a paying customer because the business aint yours, on paper anyway
If the business is yours:
keep a copy of the:
full licence for the bar
your memorandum and articles of association and ur director forms and sharholding documentation
Then if u want u have the ammunition to argue your case
But in general
Dont serve behind the bar or be cashier
Better to sit on the outside if ur a worrier

ps ive broken all these rules
pps some soi's seem to have more problems than other when it comes to this type of thing
