Local newspapers
I just found out we got our 3rd local English paper now; Phuket Times.
Phuket Gazette is still the best and thickest one but I welcome competition/variety in this field and now we have Phuket Post and Phuket Times aswell.
I will continue to buy all 3 of them...

You can get the Post online too, www.phuket-post.com
By the look of it the Times website is owned by a different company, the site has been around for a while. The paper itself published two issues last year then ran out of money (I guess). Now it has only 12 pages, 8 of which are in black and white, which is a bad sign.
I noticed no one has mentioned that fine bastion of reporting, Siangtai Times. The Andaman's only daily english language newspaper. They do a Thai version and have a Thai website. They do not report much news but get it all on the newswires.

Andaman Post occasionally has a good read in it too. More Aussie oriented, but keeps track of a number of expat doings around the island. Print version is only once a month and I think the online version is just a copy of the print version, but worth a look. Murray, the guy that runs it is a nice bloke too.

Phuket Post is a bit sparce on 'News' - The Andaman Classified was very good for property, when Mrs did property rentals had a lot of feedback from Ads put in.
Jimbob6 - is there an english version to the website for the Siangtai Times - (Thai one is here .. http://www.siangtai.com/TH/index.php#). Seen the print version occasionally, but if had online version would be good to add to favs.
NB - The link to English version doesnt work.

Siangtai is the main newspaper for Phuket in Thai, never seen an english version.
Would be great to have that in English as they report lot of stuff you never read in the english ones.

They sell an English version on newstands - seen it occasionally at the newstand at the beach end of Bangla - never in Lotus though (where I generally buy my papers).

Phuket Newspaper Update
Siangtai now print the cover in colour. It is available daily in 7-11s and at a few places in Central and Big C. Print still comes off in your hands and content is all nicked from AP.
Phuket Times has come out again, the English has gotten much worse and they seem to have lost their advertisers.
The Post and the Gazette are still going strong, the price of the Gazette has risen to 25 baht now. The Post is still 20 baht and has changed to printing on glossy paper so looks a lot better and easier to fold and put in your bag.
There are rumours of a few more publications coming out but not seen anything but tourist based stuff.
The Patong Times has yet to bring out a print version.
