Company registration
Has any recent movers to phuket set up a company and how much for the registration did you pay.
The quotes i've had just for registration are,
Phuket Internation Law Office 53,500 Baht
Sunbelt Asia 69,000 Baht
Has any one got the email address or name of any other good law firms in phuket.
I'm sure nicke said ages a go should only be around 35,000 baht Max.
Thanks
Baz

Everyone that I've heard of in the past year or so, has paid around the 50k mark, but I'm sure you can find cheaper. You might have to just be there and do some foot work.

I thought 25 - 35 was going rate..
Khun Joy on Nanai is very efficient and speaks good english but does fair price and no farang Thaiu bullshit.. She does the accounts and company work for lots of expats I know so word of mouth obviously counts for something..

The real cost is about 15k, but ofcourse people involved who do the work should get paid. I paid 25k six years ago.

I've done it twice now
The top end is 40k but 25 is the low end for quality but can be done well at that price.
Anyone quoting 50 or higher is just trying to make some cash off of you.
Cheers!

I am 90% sure Khun Joy is 25k base price.. Then its only marginal increases are for complications of paperwork multiple farang directors, changing stuff as its happening..
Really good service from her whole company.. I guess thats why she has such regular repeat biz from the expat crowd.

Ive payed 65k about 5 montha ago. It was thru Siam International Legal Group. They have offices all over Thailand and are the biggest lawyer network in Los. The price includes company-registration, workpermit, payment for thai cherholders and 1 year workpermit without leaving Thailand every 3 months.........
The drawback is that it all takes long time.....my company was up and running after 45 days, but the other shit have taken me 5 months to get....
Ive also heard rumors of false lawfirms lately that make "false companies" for cheap prices. Might get you in troubble if the police/gouverment take a deep check in your papers...........only rumors, but it dont surprice me.....

I've been admiring all the photo's of Love Bar, over the holiday's.
I'd like to try my hand at "pole dancing" there, sometime.
To become a BB (bar boy), would I need a work permit? How long might that take? And how much would it cost?
Are you accepting applictions?
Thanks in advance
(Wasn't it Stevem who recently said..."there are no more serious post's, I guess"....sorry

The red line seems to be the bigger the lawyer firm, the higher price it will be. Same when I went to court to be the legal guardian for my daughter, I used a small Thai lawyer and paid 15k where the bigger farang firms asked for 4 times more; and I still got the documents and court order I wanted.

Fairly sure 25 was not including work permit but getting a B visa should be as simple as a trip to Penang.. Work permits are a headache..

Seems it not the name that counts but the quality of work they provide in the end.
Thanks again lads

Lots of good info in this thread! Has anybody tried to register a US company under the American/Thai Treaty of Amity? This is the route I would like to take since I get (in theory) to keep 100% control. I know Siam Legal Group works with this but do any of the Phuket law firms? I guess I will just stop by and talk to the law offices mentionned in the thread but any experiences you can share would be much appreciated.
Cheers, Robaht

I think you'll find that this treaty is due to be terminated, well at least there has been talk of it happening.

Yeah WTO agreements forced its termination to level playing field etc...
Also the treaty of Amity companies were pretty restricted in what they could do I think.. Certain sectors not possible.. Couldnt own property etc..

I'm American and have a registered business in a Thai company(Siam Deli in Laguna), the route you want to take is too complicated.
I'm the managing director and control my business so don't worry.
If you are setting it up to own land or get a work permit you will have to have a Thai director and yourself, however as you alocate shares that will determine control. Also having the sign off on the shares is important for shareholders and directors.
I know this dosen't explain much but go the route most do here and you will be fine.
Cheers!

expensive headache
I paid 23,000 for my Co. Ltd. then got my own work permit without too much trouble. The hard part is getting my visa. It is a huge headache, but I now feel better seeing how much money I saved
