I'll be needing to ship approx 60lbs of personal items from the states...any experience with a particular company or website details? Much obliged!

I SHIPPED A PACKAGE FROM THE USA TO IRELAND...
I WAS ABLE TO TRACK THEIR MOVEMENTS ALL THE TIME..........
SHIPPMENT ON TIME...NO PROBS
CANT RMEMBER THE PRICE THOUGH.....

Call Thai Airways and ask for their cargo partners, air cargo may be lot cheaper than DHL or FedEx.

I use DHL between various locations - South Africa, US, UK, Korea and Iraq. The price is per kilo. Last lot for 75Kg was $1200. I also pay an additional insurance premium on expensive items. That is up to you! They will deliver to my street here in town but that is a bit more! So I go and collect from the airport.

As IJ says, a lot of these companies now have an on-line tracking system whereby you can follow your items as they move towards thier destination. All major carriers normally have a user friendly website.

Import paperwork can be a pain in the back sometimes here. I have to import on a particular contract number and clear my items through Iraqi customs! But that is another story. I am guessing Thailand maybe a bit better!!!!!!

I have also used TNT between Italy and UK and FedEx between Croatia and the UK both were very good and reliable service. Hope this is of use.

Just the other day I checked on the price to ship an imaginary 35 pound box from the USA to Bangkok via Fed Ex. I was shocked at the price. Even with a Fed Ex account, which supposedly gives you a discount, the price was $500. There must be a cheaper way.
