no return flight
Hi! I'm from Italy and I am coming to Phuket next months for one year. My question is: if I buy a no return fly ticket, with a three months tourist visa, do I have any trouble at the immigration check point?
I went to the Thai embassy and...they don't know!

I wonder if you board in your country without a return ticket, who the hell cares about, you are a western, and as such you are allowed to go out of your country without any return ticket.whereas the problem is different when you have to check in a country you are not a citizen of,he'd better calls the Italian embassy in thailand and sort it out before leaving

If you are not allowed to enter the country, because you dont have any return ticket, then i suppose that would be the airlines problem. And thats probably why some people has been refused boarding because they couldnt show return ticket.

In previous discussions it has been said that the airline are responsable to check if you have a return ticket.
Why not buy an open return ticket which is valid for a year then there is no charge if you change the date of your return.

The reasons airlines check your return ticket, or at least a ticket out of the country to which they are carrying you, is that if you are denied entry to the country, the airline is liable for all the expenses of removing you from the country back to your last departure, and also a significant fine.
However, alot of countries allow you to enter on one way tickets, if you are holding a valid visa, and Thailand is one of these countries.
If your travelling to LOS on a one way ticket without holding a valid visa, then you just need to show that you have purchased a ticket out of LOS, and that could be just to anywhere near by, and once you arrive just cancel the ticket.

Looking at thaivisa.com, I have found out that "getting a tourist visa in advacnce provides exemption from the need for a return ticket, but the airlines may still require one even so."
So now, as Whuakito suggested, I will contact the air company to check out.
Thanks for your advice.
