Question Any electronics jobs in LOS?

Just back from another 2 weeks in Thailand. Like many visitors to LOS I dream of living/working there for a year or 2 (ideally in Phuket). I've spent days searching the 'net looking for opportunities but come up blank. I have over 20 years experience as an RF electronics technician specializing in design/installation + supervision & management, repair & maintenance of satellite, cable, and over-the-air radio & TV transmission systems. As well I have extensive knowledge of computer systems/software and periphials (but I'm not an IT or web design specialist). Hell, I can fix anything electrical! Just wondering if anyone can give me any pointers- any contacts, suggestions etc would be appreciated or maybe I should forget my dream? Perhaps technicians are a dime a dozen in LOS? THANKS!

Have you read the list of jobs which are reserved for Thai nationals only, I havnt read through to see if your profession is covered?? See this post http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ex...jobs-list.html

You will find it extremely difficult to get any sort of start in this field, as the Thai's do have a reasonably good technical training school setup.

Thanks for the response- I had already checked the list and electronics jobs are not reserved for Thai nationals only. I was (wishfully) thinking that my experience in RF systems would be something not many Thais have. I understood most of this type of installation/mantenance was done by foreign firms operating there.

Do you happen to have any GSM experience, as there always seem to be a requirement for these quals. Have a look at www.jobserve.com
