Isuzu Service
I took my Isuzu truck for a 10,000 klm service at one of Phukets main dealers today.I was told it would take about one hour so I said I would wait. Two and half hours later they said it was ready.I was now running late for a meeting so I paid and left. When I returned home I thought I would check under the bonnet. What a suprise all the fluid levels(brake, clutch & p.steering)were below the min level. The air filter had'nt been checked,None of the wheels had been removed(as old mud still on wheelk nuts)and you can move the truck with hand brake on.So what the fu-k were they doing for 2 1/2 hours.Taking the piss out of the farang me thinks.I will be back there in the morning but will probably just get their mai pen rai bollox.
Just a warning for others who have Isuzu vehicles that need servicing.
Check if they have done anything before you pay your money

Used to think the same thing when we got the Vigo servcied, but then again, I also think the same thing here in Sydney when I get the Holden serviced. What in the hell would the average motorist know about what they have done.

I think this bad service is true for cars all over the world, not only Thailand. I often read about the bad service in Sweden aswell.

Too optimistic
Hey - let's face it.If they say one hour and then you say you will wait they are never going to get anything done.
Best move is to allow them a few days and ask them for a complimentary replacement truck.Let them take all the time in the world. You will get the job done better that way.
Also you would not have been in a rush and could have inspected the truck before accepting it back.

It dos'nt matter if you leave your truck or wait as they just do them in the order they are checked in.If you are not there when they finish the service??
they just leave it on the car park to be picked up.
I took the truck back today and pointed out the items they had not done. They did'nt bat an eye lid.Just said ok but would be a couple hours.
I don't mind the waiting as they have an a/c waiting room with t.v and free drinks. It's when you wait for two and half hours for them to do half a job and then get charged for it.
The problem is there is no booking system so they push as many trucks through as they can.In the two hours I waited they put about 30 trucks through.
Everything seems to have been done now and without any hassle. So no worries.I just hope they remember me when I go for the next service
Complimentary truck.In Thailand 555555555555555555555!

spoke to the gf about this workmanship issuses, she said anything like the family car, or the new bathroom is built, her father walks around the workman all the time to keep up the level of work being done. just to keep up the pressure.
the gfs cousins husband, built a new wall around the house about 8 "breeze blocks" high, so the gfs father constantly checked the workmanship, it looks very good apparently.
her father said, that only thing on the service that should be paid is the liquids etc and parts not the labour. in cases of warranty servicing.

Have to agree with Nicke. Some years back, had ex's Honda Accord up for its 50K or 60K service can't recall now, but it was due for a new timing belt at 55K I think. I had suspected the dealers were just cleaning and polishing on previous services so marked parts with a UV-pen.
Got that car home with a $1300 bill, then flashed the black light around. Other than topping up fluids, it seemed little had been touched. Took it back with the black light, Service manager didn't seem overly concerned, but this time fixed everything as he let lme walk around every 10 minutes or so to see what was happening. Never went back to a Honda dealer again after that.
