Dental work in Thailand.
Ouch I lost a front tooth. It looks bloody aweful too. Any experiences getting a tooth replaces. What's better Bridgework or Implants. How much did you pay. Was there a period of time that you could only eat soft food.

I had dental work done in BKK my last visit(well only visit). I had bridge work done covering 4 teeth, 2 crowns, and an extensive cleaning(no gentlemen, my teeth weren't that bad, it was more about cosmetic than anything). My bill ended up being around 60,000 baht. The email for the dental clinic I used was www.bangkokdental.com(now that's original, 55555555). Service was excellent and I have no complanints.

There's a Dental Clinic in Patong Hospital. I've had an extraction...500 baht...root canal which involved 2 visits...1500 baht...temporary plate made which involved 2 visits...1500 baht.
Work is just as good as you get from the private dentists that charge 4 times as much.
Do a search because this has been discussed loads of times before on here.

Surely there is a 0 missing at the end of your prices?
Even at that the prices are stil very good compared to over here. I recently broke one of my back teeth which was root canaled about 6 years ago. After an x-ray it turns out that I have to get another root canal done on it because there is still a bit of nerve left at the base of the root.
Cut a long story short I was quoted €1900 (100,000 Baht) to get a root canal and a crown. Bloody scandless. I was thinking of getting them done in Phuket on my next trip in October but worried it might put a dent in my holiday.

My mum is coming over here next week for the (well, almost) sole purpose of doing some work on her teeth. Fourth time now. Pays for her vacation AND she feels it's better service than back home.
Take a look at this:
http://www.phukethospital.com/center..._main_eng.html
Bangkok Phuket Hospital is a bit more expensive than other clinics, but the service and standards are great.

Thanks a milion SDK for the link. My God the prices are unbelievable compared to over here. Basically I could make a saving of around €1600 (80,000 Baht) based on those prices. That would go a long way to my holiday. I will call them to discuss further. Thanks again.

?? NO, there is not a 0 missing.
Dental work here is VERY cheap if you use the state clinics in the hospitals. Root canal back in the UK would have cost me more than 10 TIMES what I paid to have it done in Patong.

Did they give you the tooth? If not they are keeping your commission from the Tooth Fairy...

They don't do cosmetic stuff in the hospital clinic...it's all pullings; root canals; plates; bridges...that sort of stuff. That extraction yesterday included an xray...back in UK the b@stards would have charged on top for that...not here :-)
I think most farangs don't realise there are dental clinics in the hospitals here aimed at the locals but they do farangs too. There were 35 appointments yesterday...the dentist said I was the only farang. She is quite cute too
They have email...you could try it info@patonghospital.com and a websitebut seems to be only in Thai http://www.patonghospital.com/mb/

Sure we can all go to the same place and have different experiences. About 2 years ago I went to one of the private clinics....had a denture made....4000baht. 2 months later it was broken. Went to the hospital clinic...had same one made...1500 baht...still sitting comfortably in my gob today.

Totally agree about different experiences..
I would hold the idea though that a private clinic has to work that little bit harder in the customer service side to maintain its customer base where the hospital provides perhaps a more base line service at a baseline price ??
Again most of my mates seem to use the one on Sai Nam Yen Rd next to the pharmacy.. I have also heard good things about promjai but I also heard they seem to charge a lot more.
Never been to one so couldnt vouch for any info first hand.

Agree also about diffreent experiences....l used Promjai and yes they probably are the most expensive....but they are totally professional, clean customer friendly etc...and that was important to me.

So that applies to BGs too does it? Thought the one I had the other night could have done with a bit of a shave

I just recenly went to Anderman Dentist in Patong and he only does weak white fillings and not amalgan. So he wanted to cap each good tooth beside the filling to provide a support. That and some veneer he wanted 28000 baht. $1000aud. Can have it all done here for five or six hundred using amalgan and composite veneer. Was going to go also to Bangkok/Phuket Hospital for a quote but each return trip was 600baht so gave the whole thing away.

I definately vouch for the dental clinic on Sai Nam Yen beside the pharmacy, I use her for my annual check ups and have had root canal and crowns repaired / replaced, all painless I might add... (very important for a wimp like myself) I reccomend her to any BM's requiring dental surgery in LOS

I actually need to get 3 new teeth put in.... I have chiped the top parts of the front 2 teeth... I have had a filling to cover it but because i left it for such a long time when the dentist here did that there was still some black showing and i have shattered a tooth.... To get it done here is to expensive and i know in england to get them done the 2 front teeth will be costing me 700gbp and i dont know how much for the shattered tooth... (it doesnt hurt) but really i think it is better to get them done... Is it worth doing that in Thailand or is it better to get that done in Germany/England? just out of curiosity

I think you will be pleasently surprised if you get your teeth done in Phuket as the standard is very good. I always used the Bangkok Phuket hospital for my dental work. The price is a fraction of what you would pay in any western country and in my experience the quality of the work done is at least as good if not better. Go for it put the smile back on to your face.

Hi...
Anyone used Bangkok International Dental Clinic or Silom Dental Clinic before?
I'm needing a couple of veneers and will be using either one of these to get them done.........cost about $330.00 AUD to do this in LOS v's $1200.00 AUD in Aust. I'll be in BKK next month and have already made appointments with both dental clinics but any information you may have about you or your friends exp would be greatly appreciated....
Cheers
