Our Thai operation for Schlumberger seems to be very slow right now, we have engineers on loan from there now as they do not have much work, i guess if we are not drilling the wells then nobody is logging them.
What are you currently doing?? i am pretty sure you could get an equal time rotation somewhere then you could spend your time off where ever you please and could say hello to everybody in person every 4 or 5 weeks
i quite fancy vietnam as my next location
good luck with your search

Hello Simon, thanks for replying. Currently I am working as an senior wireline technician ( slickline ) witin Expro for the dutch companie NAM ( Shell ).but I do not grow here within my career opportunities , so I am looking for a job as a Wireline Operator in Thailand or Malaysia. Also I am very familiar with Schlumberger, so I do hope someone can help me finding a job in Asia.

I will think the problem is that the companys already have people in their ranks who want this jobs.
The best mabee will be to get a job in that industy
where you are now,and later seek transfer.
Many of theese jobs have their call internal first

Klav,
Problem with slickline work is in most cases it tends to be local labour (cheaper), Have you not toyed with branching away from slick line work? As Simon stated earlier why not try for a rotational job and spend your off days here? Nearly all companies will fly you to where you want to live, especially in the current climate

Hello JockLOS, thanks for replying. I know that the companies use local people
for these kind of jobs, but I have about 20 years slickline experience so I can imagine they also want experienced expat people but I like also to try something else in the oil and gasindustrie. I think you are living in Phuket and also working in the oil and gasindustrie ( which companie ? ) Maybe you know something for me , please quote me back.
Jean-Pierre.

Lots of hiring happening with oil priced where it is..
Kaveaner in Sing..
Will ask around.. Even novice / junior guys are getiing high rates.. A buddy started LST last year and is looking at 500 per day on his next job.. 15k per 30 day rotation but more likely to do 60 days on this one.. 2 months work being about enough for a year in Thailand..
