New Beginnings

Well, my house went on the market last Friday and so far were half way through about 19 interested partys viewing and some good offers, so mid next week will probably see who comes up with the most and a sale will commence!! Things so far all look on track for a start of Nov arrival... Tad later than I hoped, but all good...

All sorts of plan changes from what I originally thought...my dad isnt interested in moving to Thailand now after thinking about it, nice holiday but thats about it for him it seems...Also, Ive decided to take a side trip to Pattaya for a month to suss things out there before comitting to my first 6 month or so rental anywhere....Ive been reading intently interesting comments and thoughts about the two places and thought it would be silly to not try it out there first and go straight to Phuket. Also been in touch with number of guys in wheelchairs who go to Pattaya and getting some good responses..

So things are all go! Mix of nerves and excitement at this stage! Cross fingers sale goes through smoothly!

Nice one Izzy. I take it you will leave for LOS with your parents blessing. I'm assuming your mum will stay back in UK with your dad.
Whatever happens,I know you will enjoy your time far more in LOS than windy wet and cold Scotland. And thats just in the summer

Will be good! Hopefully see some people over xmas/new years...although depends on just how busy areas get...only got others insights into how it gets but sounded a bit hectic...a sea of people shuffling past each other is tad difficult to move through, so for the few peak peak weeks over late Dec-Early Jan I might be keeping a low profile!

5555555 your mad if you think I will be going out with her on my tail...shes just there to help travelling and getting house rented etc, she will stay at the hotel pool or go shopping...I`ll make some enquiries into getting someone to hang out with me and take me around!! At the start it may be tad expensive until I get someone full time and live in...although im still in a quandry as to the type of person who would be best...male/female, age, previous job etc etc... Then one or two people? As basically what im gonna be looking for is A) Someone to help around at home, normal homely tasks..B) Someone who can drive as I will be buying a car. C) someone who is ok with going out at night to bars, go-gos etc...

Well you appeared to make a good choice with the guy (Paul?) in Phuket,so I'm sure you will do OK. Its probably tempting to have a girl around the house, but maybe too tempting Can't mix business with pleasure Izzy 555

I didn't expect your mum to accompany you on your nights out in Pattaya ,but it would be fun to see her face though 55555

Hi Izzy,

Good luck on your move and hope it all goes well. November will be sooner than you think and that will get you settled in before the holidays and then maybe your Dad can come for a visit. And your Mom will be happy to be there then and out of the bad weather in Scotland. Hope to meet you again once you get settled in. I will definitely be in Phuket for Songkran and might get there as soon as late November.

and I think 2 ladies to help you out would be the perfect answer.55555

Izzy, that's fantastic news bout the sale going so well so far.....
I think it's a good thing too, that you're keeping your options open by checking out Patts first......A month there & you should know after that where ya really wanna be?

Like you said Izzy, fingers crossed for a smooth sale & here's hoping you'll be in your new promised land in November...

Will do man! Sure to be in one place or the other at the same time! Im leaning towards staying at Pattaya Serviced Apartments: Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartment located at Pattaya Beach Soi 8 North Pattaya Beach Chonburi Thailand in Pattaya currently, as long as they still have room when it comes to book (anoying I cant make firm plans until end of Oct and heading into high season)...had good review from a Canadian guy I talked to who uses a electric wheelchair and has stayed there for quite a while this year.

good luck with your adventure

Firstly best wishes for your adventure hope all goes smoothly

Secondly, I was looking at these apartments as prospective accommodation so if you do stay there please highlight the good and bad points. As you said the place has good reviews

Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartment - Pattaya hotels Thailand on phuket-info.com

with lower prices off that link if I read it correctly

...............And don't forget it's your turn for the beers next time we hook up young man or..............I'll let your bloody tyres down.

Nice one Fraser, you've more balls than a man with lots of balls (I can talk!) and have achieved more than some of us who talk about our plans for the future all the time.

I'm impressed. Regards to your folks and keep us posted!

Well the house is sold! Well, not really, still need to sign contracts and Show Me The Money but have a buyer and agreed price...a exchange date of 10th of Nov...which is tad longer than expected, but not light years away........Must admit has me thinking is it worth going over before New Years or not? I would not be getting on a flight before at least 17th-20th of Nov and then if I wanted to stay a month somewhere while looking around it would lead me right into the start of xmas/new years madness...Perhaps I should just hold back, spend last xmas/new years with family and go over 2nd week of Jan. That puts me like 4 months away tho

Hell's teeth Izzy, you sold that quick! Mine has been on the market since end of Feb and I've only had one offer.

Good luck whatever you decide bloke, I'm sure if it was me I would be itching to get there. Avoiding peak season might be smart though.
