Hi,

I have been travelling around Thailand and Malaysia for the last nine months and never had any problems extending my visa until now.

I have always paid to extend it month by month on visa runs. However I recently had some bad luck. After coming back from Malaysia I now find myself with a 3 month visa over stay. This was due to bad luck ie: loosing my debit card and not being sent a new for 4 weeks, then loosing my visa run money and 300 pounds in a bar whilst worst for ware on the eve of my intended trip to Burma.

I now have money and wish to travel to Vietnam for a month. Does any one know if I will be allowed to pass into Vietnam if I pay the visa over stay fine or will I be deported?

After my last posting I stayed near KhoaSan Road so I could live cheaply and get together the 20000 baht fine money and £250 for my flight home. Luckily everything turned out ok as after 5 months I turned up at the airport with my 20000 max fine and ticket home to UK(on advice of a lawyer) and thankfully got home. However the route I took, namely overstay for 5 months is not adviseable as at any time if I had been questioned by Police without money to get home and to pay the fine I could have been sent to a 'custodial suite' and had to pay court fines - the prisons are meant to be hell holes.

the end of an adventure mate.........i guess you were happy to get home ...then again life in LOS would be great........
