butterfly expat
Do any expats on the board get away with being a long term butterfly? From what I've read, it seems most guys staying in thailand end up with a long term girlfriend. I don't want to get anybody in trouble, but do you tend to grab a gf and have a bunch of mia nois or what? Has anyone managed to not have a gf and get away with butterfly big time while living there permanently? My "friend" swears that if I stay for a long time, I need to keep her as my gf, because "lady not like man stay long time butterfly", but she'll let me have as many mia nois as I like.

A friend of mine (really) manages it. He's got a long-term girl and is very upfront with her about his tendencies. He butterflies and she accepts it. He told her from the get-go that he will butterfly, but also that her place in his life is secure and he'll always take good care of her. They've been together several years now.
He's got my full admiration - I could never manage that with Mrs Lucky.

That sure quieted the thread down  !!! Back to the thread I dont really consider having a GF and having girls on the side being a serial butterfly.. Even with the GF's blind eye your still not bringing them home, taking them LT, hanging out for breakfast.. Just getting a quickie doesnt mean the same (thats my justification).. Staying single and taking multiple girls each week over months and years is the tough road (ohh so tough I hear you say  )

Im afraid consodering being a butterfly results in Heiniken bottles over the head first and ask questions later
but since ive moved away from phuket and escaped the bad influence of LIL and urtheman, im a little angel now who doesnt over indulge in anything G
