Can Americans practice medicine in Thailand?

Hi do any of you guys know if it is possible for physicians licensed in the US to practice medicine in Thailand? Are there any exams that are like the USMLE that one must pass? Thanks

If you still need to practice, then maybe you should wait until you've got the hang of it better, before you get your license.

As you are 25 alos maybe not a good career move.

Tried a Google serach and could not find an easy answer. I would suspect that if you wanted to practise here, like teachers you would need to have your credentials certified by the Ministry of Health and then your employer would be able to get you a work permit.

If you want a real answer then contact a Thai embassy in the States or contact what ever the medical association is in Thailand, a google should find what you need.

Cool Ex Pats work in hospitals

Some Ex Pat medical staff are employed by the big hospital chains here. Both Bangkok Phuket and Phuket International have foreign staff.

Try looking up their sites as well and ask them.
