Internet Connection in Chachoengsao

Hi, I'm located in CHachoengsao. I need a decent internet connection for playing games, doing business, talking over Yahoo Messenger, and researching. Before I moved here, I could do all my stuff using a dial-up connection in the Philippines(50Kbps). But I'm afraid that the dial-up here is way slower especially because I'd be using an extension line if I were to connect thru a dial-up. The place where I stay does not allow us to subscribe to ADSL.

What could be the best option for me? I have my own laptop and I'm willing to pay 1,500 Baht max every month. I'd prefer at least 80kbps speed to connect to international sites and do my stuff.

I've read about aircard but I'm not sure how fast the connection speed in Chachoengsao will be and the 16k is a little too steep.

Thanks in advance.

You would probably would be better off asking on a Bangkok dedicated board, this one is Phuket based. You think its tough, some parts of Phuket island you cant even get a phone line.

*sigh* Ok then if I don't have a budget limit what are the possibilities? And if I buy an aircard, will the access be really free until April? Oh and I saw this Sierra Aircard in Edge Thailand's website and it costs only 13,900 Baht I think but I don't know the how much the monthly payment will be if ever I'd purchase it. Anybody could offer any help?

Currently CAT do not allow you to use your own hardware.. It has to be CAT purchased.. Does the CAT CDMA exist in your region ?? Its very new roll out here.. and I thought Phuket was being taken up as a testbed..

Are you in an edge equipped network area ?? Also what costs are edge.. GPRS doesnt come cheap if used for more then basic email etc.. Pay by KB doesnt appeal to me much..

Quite simply I would move.. Just find somewhere that has ADSL or WiFi internet in the place..

Oh I see.. my friend told me that her friend's using an aircard(or something similar, she doesn't know) here. But she couldn't contact her friend so I couldnt ask him. But I supposed there's edge here. Moving will be more expensive I believe because right now the company sort of provides a semi-furnished housing which is 3 minutes from the office.
