visa run recommendation or share taxi
Hi,
I need to go in and out of Thailand for a minute on Saturday the 20th.
Can anyone recommend a visa run company from Patong (preference for big bus and at least 10 minutes in Burma to buy kamagra/Panagra - Can anyone tell me how much to pay for these, which one is better, and how many are ok without getting the Thai authorities upset _ I do have a Thai Doctor Viagra prescription), Thanks.
Alternatively the real preference would be to share a taxi to padang basar Malaysia (political preference to avoid giving Myanmar government 10 dollars), if anyone is interested please pm me, thanks

Yorkshire in mini buss service is about the least horrible.. Much quicker than the big bus services which are very slow and so many people getting through immigration at once takes ages.
The **** pills will depend on your hook up.. If you dont have one see how much the boat boys ask.. I know guys who buy in serious bulk pay just over 100 for 4 but buying smaller and first hookup maybe up to 150 or so.. Those are just no name generics in foils no boxes or paperwork at that price I guess.

Yorkshiore inn bus stopped about 3 months ago unless they got it going again. My last trip was 16 hours to Ranong with another company. Never again. Will stick with KL or PP from now on. There may be merit in us getting a rough idea of when all BMs are doing visa runs in order to co-ordinate, hire taxis and keep things as short as possible.

After doing 1 visa run at Aranya Pratchet i'd be flying next time.
Those damn borders, everyone wanna be your best friend and help you get your visa, for a small tip ofcourse, even the "tourist police"
Such a waste of time when you can pay a few 1000baht more and be on the plane for 2 hours all in all.

I booked a flight out and back to sing same afternoon.. I think all taxes in took it to just under 4k baht..
Fairly painless couple hours around changi, get some new cologne etc..

Recommend Eve Visa Tours to Andaman Club

My preferred Visa Run Service is EVE Visa Tour (Ph: 081 5352637, 076 289201 evevisarun . com)who run to the Andaman Club Hotel/Casino in Myanmar, across the bay from Ranong, by very comfortable minibus with a smooth/fast/safe driver nicknamed Mike Schumacher and often Khun Eve herself handling the bureaucracy with competency and often generosity (as required).
Andaman Club have their own, clean, shiny immigration offices on either side where you transact business away from the riff-raff. You can drive your own car there too and pay THB850 to the Andaman Club directly. You can stay overnight in 5-***** opulence for another THB1350/ni/room.
The crossing is made on a BIG catamaran or power yacht, a sit-down lunch is served at the hotel and there is time left for shopping and gambling.
Sorry, no pharmacy, but the Burmese Penagra pushers are not so cheap and surely not trustworthy. Buy your erectile helpers at a pharmacy in Chalong (PM me for directions) and avoid the risk of arrest for smuggling -- the stuff is illegal in LOS).
Total cost (no hidden charges unless you owe overstay penalties) was THB1500 door to door last time I used them. Pick up is ~6.00 return ~ 19.00 hrs. Considering Taxis rip you off for THB 600 each way to HKT airport this is a bargain, and Eve is a loveble person who deserves our business.

Have heard good things about the Eve service from others. If I have to make another dreaded trip to Burma will try them. It is possible to Air Asia to KL and back in a day now I think, for about the same price as a Sing trip

The trip up the coast to Ranong is quite scenic and the van stops along the way a few times. The boat cruise is quite pleasant too. Eve's Tours does it all in a very civilized way, no dread neccessary.
To fly out will cost you a bit more than Eve's and take about the same time, considering >2 hr check in requirement, the taxi fare (>THB1000 RT) and the departure ransom (about THB1000 I think it is now).
If you fly go to Sigapore's fabled Chagri AP and do some shopping. The place is like a mall and stuff is really inexpensive, great selection (not just booze and cigs but computer and camera gear, greatest collection of REAL Swiss watches I've ever seen, platinum jewelry, high fashion ect), high quality, not like at HKT and BKK, where the junk they have at King's Power Duty Free monopoly cost more than at Central/Robinsons. You might be able to recoup the flight costs in retail savings.
Good luck!

Dont you only get 25 days from Andaman club tho.. You have to have 5 days left on visa or have a short dated visa.. Something about the casinos deal was that you had to have been 'staying there' to get the stamp.. So instead of staying they just chopped the visa stamps around a bit ??
Not used it but thats what I was told..
Also note Burma charges 10 USD (cost 500 baht) now instead of the 5 USD (cost 300) it used to..

As long as you're there 1 hour before it's still ok plus you can avoid the taxi fares by riding a bike up there like I'm doing tomorrow....and the departure tax is 700 now which you will have already paid when buying your ticket.
I'd rather pay a bit extra and let the plane take the strain than go on one of thiose minibus/bus trips.
Another tip on entering the airport like last time I went there was a massive crowd of Koreans queuing to get in through security, so I walked down to the lower level arrivals and just walked straight into the terminal that way then up the stairs to departures.

I have booked a visa run to Ranong from Patong. I have been promised the front seat if they replace the big bus with a minibus due to low numbers. I will post a trip report once it is over. I like the scenery as one drives by - I rarely leave Patong otherwise. but if I am on a minibus it will be the first time in five years other than an airport transfer - and perhaps sufficiently unpleasant to lead me to fly next time.

did the visa run today
with phen phet visa run company, available from most travel agencies for 1500 baht. Took over 16 hours door to door for me, was a big bus and comfortable (big bus was not guaranteed), water, snacks, lunch, boat, visa fee included. As for pills, were available cheaply, a bit of an inspection for them so probably not worth the risk of getting caught. No more visa runs for me for a year, then likely try to share a taxi again next year.
Was a minibus for 90 minutes till we connected to the big bus - extremely uncomfortable and seems unsafe too.
