CAT ADSL - Get it if you can
I've been running CAT ADSL (on a CAT phone line) for about 6 weeks now. It is excellent and by far the best available in Phuket.
Download speed ranges from 900kbps - 1800kbps. Generally staying over a megabit. Up speed is 800kbps. It is 10am right now and I am still pulling down 1.6 megabits. This is real downloading and not speedtests. Websites load very fast. There seems to be less latency when forming a connection. VOIP is good. The line is stable. Signal drops for a few minutes every couple of days. No major outages. Even during the Taiwan earthquake service was still very decent. Well worth the 2,500 baht. I recommend that you get it if you can.

I know.. ****ers wont bring it to me !!!
My buddy who moans like hell about his Hinet ADSL can get CAT but then baulked at 2600 per month.. Same guy drops 10 - 20k in a night just bought a second plasma for the bedroom etc etc.. Wish I could get the damn thing !!

Ouch.. Thats prices of a couple of years back IMO..
What measured speed do you get out of that Nicke and is it still a JI TT&T combo ??

You need to go into the CAT office and check your location. If they think you are in a service area, they will send someone out to double check.
Offices are in Patong, near Khun Woody's bakery and Patong Language. The one in Phuket Town is harder to describe. Close to Robinson, but with the one way system it is not close.
