Angry Police useless, but supports burglary open now

We live in a Soi sideways from Soi Saiyuan in Nai Harn, in which nearly every House has been broken in the past, included mine. The in the past was that a Look at the Place has been taken, Fingerprints collected and Form was filled out and that was all Action .
But it seems that those kinds of Crimes are so common now, running out of Hand so that even those basic Procedures are not performed anymore.
Yesterday evening my Neighbor came home, opened his House, missed his Cigarettes, looked in the Bedroom and found a Stack of his valuables ready for takeaway. His Wife meanwhile looked in the other Bedroom where she was shocked to death when she discovered that the Thief was still hiding in one Bedroom.
Sometime after calling the Chalong Police a single Policeman arrived at the Scene, had a quick look in the Bedroom and asked for what he has been called.
His comments where: Nothing is stolen, nobody hurt or murdered, for what did you call us?
Neither was the Culprit asked for his name or what he was doing there, he was not searched for Weapons or otherwise bothered.
The “Policeman” wend to his Bike and drove of, leaving the Culprit in my Neighbors Bedroom.
So there was nothing left for my frightened Neighbor to open Doors and wait outside for this Guy to disappear.
If it not the Police, whom should we call?

Sorry to hear your story, I hope not every police man act that way. He should be charged with trespassing and atleast questioned and taken to police station etc regarding this and other break ins.

Maybe time for foreigners living here to form a society/organization to make our voice heard regarding our issues.

There was a similar thread on ThaiVisa saying how Nai Harn was having many many farang targeted break ins and police seemed to not care or be at all interested.

Personally I would be photographing the coppers face, getting his name, and gazette the info.. Name and shame..

Sure its risky but its still how I would act.

Cool Get a dog

Even better get a big dog like a wolf.

I know it is not practical for everbody but Thais are sh1t scared of dogs.If there is one in your property or even sponsor a street mutt and all look after it the burglars will give your area a miss.
