I've got a PS2 already modded if you prefer. PM and it is yours super cheap.

Otherwise try the Dried Fun (?) place at Lotus. It is in the little shops in the middle.

I am that guy in Rawai, can mod your ps2 with a better mod chip, auto boots all ps1,ps2 games and dvd movies.
Wiifree modchip 100 Baht.
Have a fix for the Xbox360 with the ring of death.

Superb on the xbox fix..

I assume you can flash my Sammy drive to the stealth firmware to prevent the backup checks ???

There is stealth firmware for the Hitachi LG drives: Xtreme Hitachi-LG v2.4 Stealth
For Samsung - Xtreme Firmware v5.3 TS-H943
All Samsung M25 M28 firmwares are still working after the spring update.

Yeah its not the still working..

Its the fact that MS can now detect backup discs being played.. I am not happy to sign into live if they can detect backups as it may result in later banning (think Halo launch !!) I would be happier to stay stealth all the way..

How much would you charge for a drive flash on a Sammy to 5.3 ??

So here is the dumb question. Where do I check to see which drive my box has? Is it in the menus some where?

Google didn't pull up much on this.

Hi Folks!

If you flash the drive will it allow playing all *.iso(s) that you download from the net? and from any region?

How much for a modded 360 in patong/bkk? would be interested in one of those when i go down for vacation...

Have to flash it with a VIA SATA chipset, have Asus MB's with the Promise SATA chipset and they are not usable for flashing Samsung drives.

I guess such news increase the sales of Wii console, as original games here cost ~3000 baht/each.

Really, thats like 40gbp approx....

I've considered chipping mine.... but quite frankly I hardly play it at the moment... will be worthwhile to do, as in the Future there will be some good releases...

Better wait for the new Elite model and check the DVD tray before buying.

I have heard about a LOT of returns also.. The factor in I have no idea what if any guarantee on a grey import sales..

When your dropping 400k USD you kind of expect it to last more than a fe months..

So with a flashed Drive all the Backups from every Region (PAL/NTSC) work? Or Only Pal Backups work on a PAL Console?

I think region codes still exist.. None of the executable code has been broken..

Tho there is a gentoo linux distrib working on a live CD..

Not that many games are region locked.. Most are all region.. There is probably a list online..

Just a heads up for those that haven't heard - MS are blocking users on the Live service where they've detected a flashed drive. No-one is sure how they are programatically doing the detection though (later patches were written for stealth), there's the theory that they've data-mined a load of units from earlier detections and have been sitting on the info until now.

When I looked last night there was already talk from one of the FW writers that they had nailed it and a new FW would be coming.. Banned units would however stay banned..

Mine is still unbanned and still pre spring update.. I tend to let these things settle down and others risk it before I make changes..
