I asked before LOS on another thread but no one answered me. You've booked the trip what are your thoughts on the safety aspect?

Not actually booked it yet Bernie....maybe going end of this month but I'm waiting to see if my mate is going to go as he might be off to Oz instead.

Never been down that way myself so can't say much about safety angle but it's not like there's bombs going off everyday and when there is trouble it seems to be more in Yala and Pattani. Couple of friends did a border run down there a few weeks ago by minibus and said they had a good night in Hat Yai.

Yeah Nicke told me that Hat Yai in the old days was a really good visa run but I had sort of put it on the back burner cos of the troubles. This time last year I sort of thought heck bombs don't go off every day, lets get down there, then before I booked they started bombing the touristy area. There gain sometimes I wonder how much safer Cambodia etc is, less bombs but more guns.
