House/apartment for less than 10k
I've been walking around in Patong all day looking for a small house/apartment for a good price.
What I need is 1 bedroom, livingroom and kitchen in a quiet area.
I need a place to stay when I want a day off from the bar and all the noise in Seadragon. But I dont want to pay to much as I can live for free upstairs in the bar.........
If anyone know about a place like that, please let me know.......
Thanks
Geir

Buy a good set of ear muffs - save 10,000 baht.

Have alook along the road past Montes Bar going towards the temple. On the left there is a small group of rental houses - you might get lucky.

Been there today, all full. I even had a look at some behind Montes, but they wanted 12k or more.......Then its better to rent in BB-cottage for about the same price...(walking-distance)
Thanks anyway.........Some of the houses/bungalows close to Montes looked really good inside, all renewed.

Driving in the direction of the wat go passed Nicke's soi, then new 7-11, then next soi is apartments, Olli stayed there think he was paying 7k. Bit scruffy inside and only like a hotel room in size but they always seemed to have a few rooms spare. If not luck drive out of that soi and opposite is the new entrance road to soi duncan, drive down it and on your left after about 750mtrs is a some yellow painted apartments/rooms, they were much cheaper about 3/4k oper mth but we didn't see inside, some appeared to have aircon though. Also what about the partments, 1 & 2 beds behind the Scottish Bar on Sai Nam Yen, they were nice about 10k from memory.
Amazed you are having probs finding accomodation this time of year? thought there would be loads???.

Not problems to find something, but I want a place where I can cook for less than 10k......not easy. If the livingroom and kitchen is together, no problem, but I want more than a single room...

Geir, this is no BS... try the apartments on Soi Sai Nam Yen just past Scottie's Restaurant (after Nanai Road and make a left) as you head towards Kathu. They have very reasonable rates, but not sure if under 10K...
If you want the real story, visit a friend of mine Brendan... he owns the bar just across your street there on Sea Dragon called Josephine's.....

I guess Tanman talks about Chusri apartments and I am sure they cost more than 10k/month.

Thanks Nicke... that is the complex I was talking about. 2 beds go for 14.5K, so I assumed a one bed may go for less than 10K.... It may still be possible to get that rate or less... from what I have seen the building is just about empty during the low season and the manager there seems to be a reasonable sort...

Geir, if you can manage without the cooking facilities, Lanna Thai on Nanai Road opposite Ubol Market are only 6000baht/month...they may let you use the kitchen?
You'd fit in very well as the 2 farangs running it are rather gay fellows :-) My mate has just been staying there. Says he was well looked after!...he's straight and they didn't bother him.

I think the 1 bed places on my hill that are free are 12k... Those I am told are actually nice 1beds with good furnishings and cable and wireless net available.
Maybe he would nego an offer ??
