Contact Lenses

Does anyone have experience of having contact lenses prescribed in Phuket.
Thanks

Yep, it is real easy.

I went to one of the shops recently. They did an eye exam for free, then just bought the contacts. No prescription is necessary.

As mentioned, easy to get even without a test ...just walk in with an old box or lens and they will sell you as much as you want.

Something to watch though..their sizes are different to ours in Australia..I couldn't find any that were the same specs as mine (the 13.8 diameter was easy enough to find in my strength but their BC was 8.4 whereas mine is 8.6). Not sure, but I think that means less coverage over your pupils...could be a problem so I didn't take the risk..You might like to check with your optometrist on that one.

Would be interested in hearing other's experiences as well.

I have an astigmatism in a + power prescription. Every shop I tried said "thailand no have". So I ended up ordering from 1800contacts. $20 shipping.

Visited in Bangkok Phuket hospital a lasik clinic, very glossy, high tech and so, and they told me there was no problem to have Lasik surgery, but it was to expensive and later I found this website: LasikDisaster.com.
