Just a thank you

Asked a couple of stupid questions and then took advice and trawled through the site for a few days.

Id like to make an observation if I may:

I have been on a number of forums and rarely have I come across what appears to be such an accepting community as this one.

A few trivial spats but, in the main, a good humoured and knowledgeable set of members (pun unintentional).

My wife and I will be visiting the area in December for a provisional recce and no doubt I will have even more stupid questions to ask before that as our intention is to spend at least a year or two in Phuket from sometime early next year.

I hope to be able to meet a few of the members on our visit so an indication as to the hangouts for reprobates and hedonists would be appreciated! I suspect the Mai Thai will head that particular list.

Spotted a number of hashers in the crowd so Im certain there will be a vast knowledge of watering holes and cheap food outlets they can reccomend.

So, just a thank you for the entertainment and knowledge you take the time to share.

Den I think your post will be appreciated by the members and I think is nice to hear, especially as you compare this to other forums you have been a member of

You immediately come across as a genuine kind of guy and the board will assist with your questions the best they can. If youv'e been reading the board over the last few days you will have no doubt seen how the wrong way of asking is done and how to wind up the members with sarcasm and racial answers, once you have been on here for awhile it becomes very easy to see the decent guys like you and weed out the trolls.

So enjoy your time on here and never worry about asking stuff.

You ought to be very careful about mudslinging like this - there are such things as libel laws, you know, and they apply on the internet as much as anywhere else.

Now, if I were as paranoid as some I would be making a link between a post praising the site and our recent disagreements. But I'm not paranoid, so won't. Others should take note.

Dennis, you are welcome. Glad that you have enjoyed reading the board and finding all of the answers that you needed. Not really hard when you use the search function.

Have a great trip and I hope your short trip goes well and you find what you are looking for in terms of long term accomodation for your move.

Please PM Dame and give him a remedial lesson on how to use the search function. Also tell him it only takes a short time to find stuff and it is much easier to use if you don't act like a jerk and have a bad attitude to begin with.

Firstly thank you so much for your kind comments.

So far as he who shall remain nameless is concerned I have found with experience that attention seekers who seek confrontation through anonimity are somewhat lacking in the cerebral department and therefore unwilling and, generally, unable to take on board lessons regarding manners and good behaviour.

So I think Ill pass on trying to teach him anything.

Well have a great time and enjoy yourself. Go to Mai Thai Bar, Faulty Towers, Hells Bells, and other expat bars and introduce yourself to the expats there. They will have some good info for you. Just don't interrupt their drinking and don't get in front of Hobbsy when someone is taking his picture.

Dennis welcome a board if u read bollocks it is usual by me , have a good time here even if we are kidding some times were a good bunch of idiots who have to much time on our hands if we are not in LOS , so again welcome and we will try to answer your questions as good as possible and remember stupid questions are the onces that haven't been asked.
