Descaler pellets (coffee machine)

Can these be found on Phuket ??

My automatic machine has been flashing descale for the last 1000 mugs or so.. Dont want to screw it up.. Far to important a device in my household.

Ripped it apart for a full clean down, was all set to use 25% distilled vinegar but theres warnings all over DO NOT USE VINEGAR !! I thought that was a standard replacement.. Is it just as some morons use malt vinegar or something ??

Anyway not found them in Carrefore or Tops.. But then knowing Thai supermarket layouts they are probably put out next to the cat food.

Anyone have a lead ?? Or time to hit the mail order.

How about asking one of the Bon Cafe reps that are always around delivering ans servicing their machines.... or even a restaurant owner who uses such machines....i'm sure they will be able to help as their machines are being used all day so maintenance a must..... just a suggestion

Go to the dental department and get some sterident tabs for soaking falsies.They will do the job for you.Coke will also clean tarnish off anything metal.

Nescafe??? Just taste like American coffee.... water with a little bit of coffee taste

Nothing better than freshly grinded beans and processed by a decent espresso machine.

Only worry is would anything react when cooked through the machine on the descale cycle.. I cant see boiling coke through it as a good idea..

I actually spent 10 minutes in my local supermarket coffee section earlier tonight, on the hopes I may find some there for you........All to no avail sorry.

LiL, as far as I know, here you have small bottles with cleaning liquids for espresso machines. I will have to look in downtown The Hague for that though, but can do.
Please let me know the brand of you machine and I will try to find out for you.
If I find it, I can bring you a bottle when I come to Phuket last week of Sept.

Sodium Bicarbonate (aka Baking Soda) would do it but you're not supposed to use on aluminium. If there are warnings all over about vinegar it's possibly (likely?) because the machine has aluminium parts...that also rules out using coke, lemon juice, etc so you might be stuck with trying to find a proper cleaning fluid.
