Exclamation Never teach an old dog new tricks

It is all Gollums fault!!!

Petter was good enough to bring his external hard drive to the bar and let Gollum down load all the new music.Gollum then did a massive edit and got things all on to the master library.

I wanted play lists for 60s,70s,80,Irish,and comedy and he made them.So far so good.

THEN he taught me how to do that 'drag and drop thingie' to add my own songs to each.

I now have the play lists from hell (and only got as far as the Hs so far).I ended up with Irish in the 80s and Beatles in the Irish!!God alone knows where Pavarotti and Verdi are now but I am working on it.

Similar thing happened to me Crusty! I had collected everyones CD's in Iraq and ripped them to MP3 (Over three years!!!) Then stored them on a 60GB external hard-drive for my own use.

I pop over to my Brother in Laws in Scarborough while I was home last for a few bevvies and catch up on his travels and mention the music I have with me. We shop for an external hard-drive for him, set everything up and I leave him to select from my drive the music he wants and go and watch a bit of telly.

"Finished" says he, handing me back my hard-drive. I head back here to Thailand and fancy listening to a bit of Gnarls Barclay or summink! Set up the hard-drive, sub woofer thingie and speakers, click the hard-drive icon on my laptop and yep.........................Diddley Fcukin' Squat!

He had cut and pasted my stuff onto his hard-drive. Oh how we laughed when I rang him up at five thirty in the fcuking morning UK Time to tell him!

I've got about 5Gb of music on my little MP3 player and I think the neighbours are a bit fed up of it already. Anyway, I managed to get the Brother in Law up to two nights out in Scarborough (on him) as a bit of recompense! Sorted!

Smile All up again

The problem was more than just the music.Gollum had to buy some new innards and then do a major re install of everything.

I now have all the play lists up to scratch.

On Saturday I was listening to classical in the bar.

Or was I just Brahms and List.

Thumbs down Magical mystery of pics tour

Come back from hols and discover that Yahoo have dropped the Yahoo Pictures facitity.

They wanted me to swap them into a pay for service instead.Did it for trial and then found it only valid for three months.Moved em all out again and lost the lot!!

Got Adobe picture from Gollum and bunged them in that - I thought.

Logged in and saved all pictures to desktop like he said.Switcher user on computer to Scud and opened desktop.NOTHING

Had to get someone to move them across from bar user to Scud user. What a load of bollox.I am going back to geting prints done.

After my post I did however try to connect my iPod to this (new) notebook and newly installed iTunes. I tried the sync option but said this computer was not authorized yet, I did it now.

It said this was 2nd computer out of 5.

I guess sync will restore my files now, its still a problem in long term. Lets say in 5-10 years I have used more than the 5 computer quota. How do I access my (paid) songs then? Lets say my iPod breaks down, then I cant restore my songs at all to any new computer as download (again) is not possible?

Its not fair I have to buy songs again because I over a time may have more than 5 computers to store my music on or current storage (iPod) stop working.
