Advice Needed... Sorry

Hi Guys

Im considering renting an apartment somewhere within spitting distance of Bangla on a long term basis to ease the problems of arriving at short notice and not being able to get suitable hotel accomodation.

Any advice, indications of where to look, prices, potential pitfalls etc would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I may know of a really nice unfurnished house being moved out of at the end of the month.. and the fact is as its due to a marital breakup the furniture could be bought also at firesale prices..

Nice home, well sorted, 2 big bedrooms (one HUGE) nice open living space.. 11 or 12k per month.. Thats for a nice house and thai price, I dont see ones like this at that price often. That would be if your making a long term commitment not a few months trial due to its unfurnished nature..

More usually a nice 2 bed is min 15k at the ropey(ish) end to 25k for quite nice.. Of course others with pool access and things can get really pricey, absolute beaut of a place with own private pool in baan suan kamnan (out at blue point / sunset point which is pretty much patongs des res).. IIRC thats 50k per month so you can see theres a lot of variation. Depends on how well appointed / furnished etc.. I may know of a VERY nicely done out place with a (shared) pool outside its door for 35 ish.. Maybe 30 for a 1 year agreement. Thats a VERY luxo furnished place tho..

Really if your renting you want to get on the case before end of Oct as prices will really jump..

Outside of Patong prices get better or you get more for your money.. Where Dodger and Denver live is a pretty nice spot, lots of pools,m nice community type vibe and security etc.. Those are worth looking at if your not wanting to be right in Patong.

Cool Ban Banjamas

The new apartments near the swimming pool at Ban Banjamas (top end of Soi Sans Sabai on left) are almost ready.

Since you are now coming back soon you could have a look at them too.
