Colds and Flus

Well, here I am sitting at this wretched computer, at 1.30 in the morning, feeling ....well WRETCHED!!!!!!
It's as if I have been beaten up by the Kamalala bikie gang, then run over by a Tuk Tuk, just for good measure!!!!
It's now day 5 of feeling like this and I have had a Heart Attack, that was easier to deal with than this cr@p!!!!( a big help was this cute redheaded nurse........Ooops, there goes the pacemaker!!!..... another time then!!!)
Anyway, do you Lucky Sods, living in Paradise (32*C on average, all year) have to put up with this sort of Garbage, or are the germs on holiday as well?????

As miserable as I am sure you feel, maybe it can cheer you up to think that its absolutely worse IMO to be sick in the tropics.. Run a fever in this climate and it beats you up bad..

Get well.. If all else fails Hot Toddys with plenty of cloves (and irish whisky) seems to help me through bad ones. Not joking either !!

Thanks for the advice....... anything with alcohol in it, is worth a try!!!!
But what I really wanted to find out ( and didn't explain very well!!) was if you guys got as many colds and flus in LOS as you did in your home countries.
You mentioned fevers... are they from everyday type illness or some exotic tropical thingy??

Well I had typhoid a few years back after a Song gran.. That really did hit me badly.. I know one or two people who had Denge and thats a heavy duty issue too.. But I would say that those are rare enough to be a talking point..

I am guessing its less than UK winter, but the heat to AC can be one that triggers shitty reactions, and I think I probably had tonsilitus more in my first times than I ever did back there.

I think Thais tend to feel achey and unwell more than I do in the rainy season, they probably feel that as cold more..

Well if you gus don't get sick, today I found out why!!!!(and made me miss Thailand all the more!!)

Australia..
Feel like death warmed over, make a doctor's appointment, arrive 5 minutes early for 2.30 appointment, get to see doctor at 3.30!!, tell him I need some amoxcillin for a chest infection, after a 5 minute check up he tells me .."you need some amoxcillin for a chest infection", sign several bits of paper, out the door and into pharmacy, wait 10 minutes for chemist to write out how to take a pill and stick it to a boxfull of pills, drive home and ignore perscription!!

Summary..
1 1/2 hrs of my time, $5.00 for pills( on the gov)and 10km round trip!!!

Thailand...
have a sniffle, walking past a pharmacy, drop in and tell them I need some imoxcillin for a chest infection, they ask how many, for 1 week, get little plastic bag with directions on the pack, 300 baht (farang price), out the door.

Summary..
5 minutes, 300 Baht (+- $12.50)

The germs don't have a chance to get a hold of you over there as it's so easy to kill 'em!!!!

Looks like the Kamalalala Bike gang (I've yet to see them) are having a holiday and letting the Kathu Bikers make the Phuket Gazette front page.

Got the sniffles myself today, must have been that pizza I had last night. Still got some of the paracetamols Sef bought me when I fell of my bike (Actually, the bike fell off me!) So, going to bed less air-con tonight and a warm, brown teddy.............with big t1ts!

Crazy the Thais and the so called "cold". My wife's dad around this time of the year is starting to walk around in a winter jacket and a hat on his head up country.

Now, funny thing ever seeing my wife sweating for the first time over the past month here in Dubai. I never saw a TG sweat before just like that :-)

"See how it feels baby, you want a cold towel or some white powder Darling" 5555

Last week temperatures, especially humidity(!), dropped dramatically. It's now fantastic, great and perfect really. And in the evenings/nights it's down to 28c.

We've got the airco around 25/26c in the living room at all times, but right now at this moment she's laying on the couch with a warm blanket around her because it's getting cold a bit ?

But, luckily we didn't get sick b'cause of airco's yet ! Fingers crossed !
