Visa Question

Hi just a quick visa question, i have a uk single entry 90 day holiday visa and will be travelling to cambodia from Burriram for a four day visit, will this cause me any problems when coming back to thailand? As I know that most people use this as a visa run. Can anyone help?

Regards Lee

Yes, as its a single entry once you leave the kingdom the visa is invalid. You would have to come back in on a visa exemption which will last you 30 days before going on a visa run. All depends how long you are intending on staying in Thailand. Can you not apply for a 90 day double entry visa.....you used to be able to

What visa is it ?? A (single entry) tourist visa is only for 60 days anyway (unless you ask for an extension).

No matter what type of visa, a non immigrant single entry (good for 90 days) or a Tourist single entry, once that entry is used thats it expired. It is possible to get a re-entry permit but that will only keep your original period of entry valid not extend it while out of the country.

Another Visa Question

Hi,

I intend to stay for 50 days and do not need Visa for 30 days. By travelling to KL in the middle of the period for 2 days I should be able to avoid the Visa hussle. Am I right?

Cheers

why not simply get a tourist visa (good for 60 days) before you come..

All easy..

If your going anyway then yes, you should get a 30 day visa exempt entry a second time as you are allowed 90 days in 6 months..

A second problem arises tho in that you cannot fly into Thailand without either a real visa or a flight out of the country inside 30 days. Very often they wont let you even board the plane to come.

So either you need to pre book your KL leg or have a visa.

Thats right. They got signs up now at the immigration desks on the new airport: Show onward ticket, boarding pass..
Funny thing is i enter this way on a regular basis. With no onward ticket. I don't really have a choice the way I'm working at the moment. Never had any questions about it, neither at boarding (several different airlines: Thai, SAS, Finnair, Bangkok Air) or at immigration

Check-in in KL ask me every time if I have a visa when I return to Phuket. I just wonder what happens without a visa or onward flight ticket to show.

They dont let you board.. My buddy was stuck in HK and had to buy a ticket in the airport fast, luckily he wasnt pushed for check in time..

My brother got stopped and when they asked him he just said "of course I have a ticket my booking is KL64839 on Tiger air, its a ticketless airline".. That totally stumped them and they didnt know what to do, he wouldnt back down and once they called out managers etc they let him board.. He had no such booking of course.
