Serviced Offices

Hi guys,

A friend of mine is looking for a place where he can rent a serviced office on Phuket. I do know that you can find these in Bangkok and most major cities but I don't know of any place in Phuket where you can rent these.

The location is not really important. It should be a small furnished office (with phone and internet) in an office building. The guy just wants to be able to move his laptop into the place and start working. He doesnt want to worry about phone lines, furniture, long leases etc.

Anyone know if and where you could find something like this on Phuket?

We used to have that but I dont know if they are still available, havent seen any ads or so from them for a long time.

I tried to remember but I cant, think it was between town and chalong somewhere. Also in Patong above a real estate shop close to text and talk academy, same there, I dont know if they are still around, but remember they were quite expensive with 20-25,000 b/m.

The Phuket Rajabhat University Business Incubator (PKRUBI) is a project developed by Phuket Rajabhat University. It was established in July 2005 utilizing funds made available to the PKRUBI by the Commission on Higher Education (CHE), the Ministry of Education. The incubator’s initial target markets are the university’s graduates, alumni, current students, faculty staff, and local people who have an inspiration and a business idea to be an entrepreneur. However, from this month the PKRUBI's target is expanding to help interested outsiders establish a new business or a subsidiary in Phuket.

The purpose of the PKRUBI is to help create new businesses based on knowledge and technology developed in association with the university. By providing space and nurturing services to new and small businesses during their critical early existence, the PKRUBI accelerates start-up and spin-off companies. In addition to office space, the incubator provides advice, technical assistance, counseling and other services on-site that are often unavailable to new or small businesses due to their cost and the location of their offering. Office equipment is also available to incubator clients. Additionally, the PKRUBI offers the access to the university facilities such as laboratory, library, and on-line resources such as books, journals, and publications useful to the emerging entrepreneur.

The office rental equipped with internet access and telephone line is just 200 baht/sq.m./month + electricity. Currently there are two units available for rent. One room is about 24 sqare meters and the other is about 35 square meters. Both come with air condition. I forgot to tell that the Business Incubator also provides the partitioned space (1.5X1.5 Sq.M.) with computer desk and chair and internet access for only 1,500 baht/month during the first three months before starting the new business. Your friend could use it while he prepares to start to run the business.
