montessori school

Hello all,

I've just become a member having spent a lot of time reading your comments, advice etc.

I'm going to be in Phuket in July checking out housing etc. Will be staying at The C&N Hotel as per advice.
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the Montessori school? We're planning on moving over from Japan around this time next year. As much as I'd love to enroll my kids at 'Dulwich' it's way too expensive. We'll be needing to live on around 2000 US a month. A modest amount I know for a family of four but I'll probably buy a house after a while and so not have to worry about rent.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Many thanks.

I'm a big fan of Dulwich

I wouldn't send my kid to any other school but Dulwich. I know it's expensive but I feel it's the only good school for 7-17 year olds. Investing in your children's future with the best education on the island should be a main concern of yours in Thailand.
It's an investment that will pay off.

Don't know much about the other shcools but my friends wouldn't send their kids to any other school here.

Cheers!

This is an interesting topic, Dulwich is ofcourse the best one but I also wonder what the options are if you cant afford 'the best school'?

We have one more international school in Phuket but I don't remember the name of it now, it may be slightly cheaper I guess. The whole idea of paying for school is strange for me since it is free in Sweden or a modest fee at private schools who also get money from the government, thus, a small fee.

Post Schools in Phuket

I've been looking around. My daughter is almost 3, so she'll start next year. However, I'm not a rich farang, I have a job here in the scuba diving business, and the private schools are real expensive.

Dulwich is the biggie. Then you have Montessori, and the other expensive one is QSI. Not a lot of difference in price between the 3, all super peng. We have been looking at Kajonkiet school, which has bilingual teaching and foreign teachers, looks pretty good and much cheaper.

I found this page comparing schools on the internet from Phuket Magazine.
