Cat Cdma

Tomorrow I am off to buy the CAT CDMA modem - and I just want to check that they havent yet come up with a router style one yet?

ie - so I do not have to have it stuck in my computer with drivers - it actually has a router/switch incorporated?

I am going to get the CCU-650 - I live in Rawa - West if Lemon Green - any comments on recpetion / speed out here?

Thanks

I have the D-Link DIR-450, but it doesn't work with my CAT EV-DO card. Not sure if its a compatibility problem, or maybe I just got a bad router. Using the router's management pages, its not able to make a connection, as it thinks there's no signal available. The same EV-DO card works fine when moved from the router into the PCMCIA slot of a laptop.

Would be interested to know if anyone else has gotten this D-Link router to work with the CAT EV-DO card.

The new air card is a usb device. No more Sierra cards available per Patong CAT. All of the routers I have seen use an ethernet or pcmcia card connection as the internet source. A router/modem uses a cable or telephine line as the source. Does anyone know of a router that accepts a usb device as the source?

Although its perhaps not ideal, its probably a lot cheaper to use a desktop as a proxy server and hang the router off of that, just means you need one machine on 24/7.
