Honda CR-Z - comming to Thailand?
My honda guy said they will not be importing or making the new CR-Z in Thailand. That seems too dumb to be true. I'd guy put a deposit down today if possible.
Does anyone know what the story is for Thailand? I can't find anything via google and don't follow the car industry.
I read it is priced between a Jazz and Civic. So when it gets trashed it won't matter so much. But still has a cool a very modern (even futuristic) clean sporty look with a hybrid engine. Maybe even a 4 wheel drive option like the new jazz. I generally find cars kinda boring, but I really like this one.
Will I be able to buy it as a domestic car in Thailand?

But that is the very reason I want it. Not a family car or practical truck. Want a fun car for me. Very few options in Thailand (without totally pi$$ing money away on taxes).

I saw an updated report saying mid-2008. They just gave all the new models a 2009 model year.
but won't hold my breathe. If they don't build it here then it will be way to much with the import duties and taxes. I hate to pay double for a car.

I thought the Civic Type R looked good, Hope they introduce these here when I'm ready to purchase in 8/09. Another option!

Civic is a completely different model (read saloon) as opposed to the Type-R hatchback available in Europe. Shame - i agree type-R looks fun.

Nice look and honda make great sporty front wheel drives.. The B15 engine in the old civic (dont laugh) was so tunable.. Had a CRV 16v when I was young, always wanted a vtec.. Went like shit off a shovel..
Looks very appealing.. but sod the hybrid and give me the type R..

have been having second thoughts about owning just a bike when I move out in a few months.....after a slight altercation with a baht bus on 2nd rd in Pattaya just before i left
I was thinking the Honda CRV as a car/wagon/limited 4 wheeler would work prety well on the island

Hey Nels,
Going around the corner to the store is ok for a motorcycle but for the long run you really have to get a car.
I saw a taxi make a left the same time as a motorcyle in Bangkok and he just side swiped them and they have some nasty little scraps, the taxi kept going.
The ride in Patong is not good for a motorcyle and that's from any direction

Depends where you live tho..
Having a car in Patong is just such a ball ache, you cant park it, the one way, the bikes, the stress.. etc.. I try to never use my car for Patong stops. Really drives me nuts.
It is handy for shopping runs, rainy season, heading to Central or phuket town etc.. Tho I tend to find I still get everything done faster on a bike.
I know many patong based guys who dont have cars or who have them but start them once a month (thats almost me actually) and live quite happily.. Of course once your out in the sticks a bit more they get a bit more useable.

same same me + the bht bus.....I didn't hurt myself at all (just a slight scratch on the petrol tank of the bike as I almost held it up) but it gave me a shock that no one else on the road including other MB's gives a fig at all for the humble MB rider.....onlookers just laughed as well...oh well only pride injured

Most motorbike riders are asking for it. I didn't really appreciate how bad it was until I went from riding a bike to driving a car.
You're missing the pecking order. A baht bus is much bigger than a bike so the bike has to look after itself and avoid large vehicles. Basically bigger vehicles has right of way.

a 5 door would be a civic, a crx with 5 doors would be blasphemous, and unnecessary on what should be a 2 seater
