Shakers To Relocate
I am sure many here will know Shakers Pub Restaurant on Rat-U-Thit and the owner Oli. Well I was in there on Tuesday for a darts match and Oli wasn't his usual self he seemed a bit down so I spoke with him and he gave me the news. The landlord has increased his rent from 225K/month to over 600K/month. The land is owned by the same people who have the big hotel next to Shakers so it seems pretty clear what is happening here, they have seen what a popular place Shakers is and decided they want it. What they haven't considered is Shakers is popular because of Oli, his management skill and energy devoted to giving all his customers a first class experience. So now Oli is looking for new premises, something about the same size and no further back than Rat-U-Thit so if anyone hears of a place I am sure Oli would be grateful if you could drop him a line. Also Oli made it clear to me his mission now is to let as many people know of the situation as possible, he encouraged me to write here, so spread the word. The only good news is Oli found out about this early, he has until June on his existing lease.

Sad news.. Same thing happened to another well known establishment recently.
Once again greed is reducing the quality of what patong has to offer.

Going to be really hard to find that amount of space these days..
I like Shakers and Oli (still think they do one of the best steaks around).. So hope he find something.

Way back it was Blue Lagoon but has been Shakers for years.Oli does a great job and his food is good. This was on the cards as his place out does the Baunamburi Hotel restaurant (his landlord) and they were not happy.
Hope he finds somewhere to suit his needs.

Yes but he had a verbal agreement of being late with the rent. Get everything on paper.

Is that Kim's place just after the new internet cafe??
If so, thats bad. One of the best and cheapest Scandi-food-places in town.
