Huge Problem Urgent Help Please All!!!!

Hi Guys need your help...

im currently in Penang.. and think i just got screwed..

I am applying for my Non Imgrant B Visa.. I have ALL the documentation from my lawyer/ accountant i needed including my WP ticket ( already applied for WP and lodged WP3) received ''WP ticket to also be lodged at the time i aPPLY FOR MY b VISA in penang which is what i did with all the relvant documentation i needed.

Was expecting to be asked to pay the 550 RM for one year multi entry visa but instead was only asked for 220 RM when i question it he said he was only giving me a 90 day visa and i was to return to Thailand and get my Work Permit first and then return and they would issue my 1 year multi entry visa.. as i have this , he is very incorrect!!! PLEASE HELP.. i would rather spend another day here sorting this out than have to come back again in 90 days..

is there any supporting online documentation i can print out and show him.. as to the correct procedure... as i know it you can obtain a B visa with out a Work Permit if you have all the company paperwork (which i have ) and have given him).. so why has he done this to me!!!????

Many thanks in advance

Saffa

Its entirely at the discretion of the consul, theres no way you can 'tell him' hes wrong..

Why do people keep going to Penang when its well known to be the least friendly consul in Asia !!

As to the non B being singles.. I have been hearing this for a while.. they seem to be pushing to make people comply with all the rules to extend incountry and not live on the multi B visa running.

Hi, have sent you a PM with a possible useful contact. Do NOT piss off the consul by telling him he's wrong- they will just blank you at that point. Remember all visas are issued at the discretion (right or wrong) of the consul. Best thing we can do is put the word out and boycott Penang until they sort themselves out. This has a knock on effect for the hoteliers and guesthouse 'fixers' who will also suffer business wise and may be in a better position to put pressure on this guy long term. it may be that the perception of penang before was that it was too lax ( triple entry tourist visas- those were the days) and they are just aplying the existing rules as they see fit.

Send a message via ICQ to Nicke
I am sorry to say but you need to show the work permit to get one year multiple entry. A wp ticket is not enough.

So I am afraid you have to repeat this in 3 months time and hopefully you have your wp by then.

yup - i had to renew 3 month visas until i actually got a WP - then you dont even need to leave the country - it is issued internally (though you have to pay 8k tea money before they will send your application to BKK).

Thats for Asian / local consuls.. Go further afield and places will issue a 1 year much easier...

Must have been my interpretation but this seems to be insinuating you thought he was wrong.

I have it also that the first time you go for a B visa you can only get 90 days, then go apply for the WP and once you have it you go back for the 1 year visa. I'm heading to KL next week for my 90-day B... does anyone think it might be a problem that the next time I go (for the 1-year) I'll be like 7-8 months pregnant? I just wonder if they'd think it was odd to have me applying for a B visa with a WP when I'm obviously about to pop a baby into the world Should I be trying to hide the bump (not that there'll be much chance of that)?

Whilst I agree the staff at Penang leave a lot to be desired in terms of friendliness I still think Penang is the best option for visas. Singapore only gave a 90 day Non B even with a work permit, Penang 1 year (90 max per entry) multiple entry.

Depends on which ones.. O's and B's with ALL the right boxes ticked then agree.. For tourist visa's they are the worst in the region.
