A bit of extra beer money for our fellow expats
Too good to be true???
I found this on another forum, I'm giving it a go...Will let you know if it's b***sh*t or not.
..........................
Well, where to start?
I've been working closely with my friend in Huahin for some considerable time now, trying to champion a half decent e-commerce solution, that may go some way towards 'blurring' the language/culture barrier, and give the Users the opportunity to trade whilst having a bit of fun.
Seeing as Sanook and Ebay had a 'bit of a falling out', we decided to go down the auction route.
It took ages to finish as it's in Thai too, and does everything ebay does/did...It looks great and is feature packed, but, and it's a big but...We get tonnes of global traffic due to our excellent performance on the search engine results pages, but we're really struggling to motivate our fellow Thai residents into being proactive, and as a result of this the site is struggling for content.
We figured that it would be worth persisting with, because of the high visitor count we've got, so in our infinite wisdom, we have set aside some decent budget and are offering an affiliate deal (not the kind where you need a website - don't panic). We are offering 100thb for every new signup generated by our affiliates....So! A bit of extra beer money for our fellow expats (we hope)...As far as "what's the catch?", well I guess it's the fact that our budget won't last forever.
More information is available, but due to this site's spam policy you'll have to google us...Just type in 'thai auction', you'll find us at the top Wink
Then visit the news article titled "We'll pay you to list auctions"
I sincerely hope this is a worthwhile promotion (all you'll need is an internet connection and few mates with something to sell), it's 100% genuine, we will even pay out digitally (in baht). Anyone interested, give me a shout.

I'm tempted to buy all those motorbikes BuyIt Now for 80baht each!!! If I bid 80baht my bid would be accepted and it would be legally binding would it?? Presumably you've got the de***al point in the wrong place!!
I wish too in the real world we got the exchange rates their currency convertor gives...
80.0 THB = 80.0 GBP
???why is dessimal a banned word??

I've just seen those bikes...I've also looked at the terms and conditions, it looks like it would be a legal bid...f**k me, I'll race yer!
A dumb mistake, let's see if someone ends up with a half-a-million baht bike for 80baht.
It also looks like there's a live operator on line as we speak, do you think anyone should tell them???? Nah, I think not.
As far as bids and stuff, it only looks like its been live for a week, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Currency Converter
Conversions should be used as an estimate only. The conversion is rounded to 2 de***al places.
80.0 THB = 161.0 USD
Still cheap for a Hayabusa 1300 CC, but their conversion rates are outrageous!

Not taken a look at it yet, as I normally dont click on links to websites that I think looks suspicious.
So with that I mean that it could also be a website that wants to have credit cards numbers, for fraud purposes.
Thailand has a long history of credit card fraud cases...
So beware..

There are two Harley Davidson Fatboy 1340 CC listed, with same pictures and no info about model/year for either of them.
And the photo does not depict a 1340 CC model, but a never, 1450 CC model!
No response from seller on my question!
I am starting to believe this is scams!

We have got many similar sites in Sweden too, from what I have heard most of them are scams and you pay for the bids, some hackers hacked one and proved the site owners always had the highest bid on things he dont make money on. (By using many different names)

So is there anything force sellers to sell at close prices.. Cos 900cc bikes for sale at 500 baht no reserve is a contract I would drive accross country to handle first hand ??
