Power Cuts getting annoying
We are on at least the 3rd today off Nanai road. Is it this bad around the rest of the island?

I heard something blow up and saw smoke coming up just as the first powercut happened this afternoon. When I got back from Phuket Town, they were repairing it just south of Nanai 1.

Our main water pump broke last week and on a sunday, so they couldn't get any parts. Then they found out there wasn't any parts on the island and it had to come from Bangers, (how unusual??), we ended up 3 days with no water, had to shower Issan style in cold water with jugs, it really does freshen you up more though, even though the sounds of me screaming like a banshee was a little off putting to my neighbours, especially as they came up to the apartment twice thinking we were stangling schoolkids!!!
If we loose power on the hills, we loose all pumps, so no leccy and no water, but I am extremely pleased to announce, we have not had any disruption to our leccy supply for ages!!!!

i had 2 power cuts today,,in nania,but the second one ,,,probably a transformer that went off,,woke me up,not a clue where it happened,,just glad i wasnt walking near it!!!!,,,all i can say,it was a big bang!!!!

A hint for those of us 'on the hill' I keep one of those 6 litre plastic water jugs under the sink in the bathroom for when the electric goes. Handy for washing, flushing and showering if required. I have a solar shower, which I take up North) as well but haven't been redued to using it yet.

150K US can get you a share in a performing business in Phuket however it comes down to the partners. I know of a few successful joint venture bars with total investment of 5 to 15 million baht and they are in prime position. These have been from groups of friends buying in and that is why the partnerships have worked and workload is shared. All are location location location. With the reseeding tourist trade you must buy in a prime spot or have a very special niche to make money.
