Buy/rent bar in Patong

Hi guys,

very nice forum. The best about Thailand. I was in Phuket from 6th to 20th August this year. And want to go back in December. But the island so so beautiful that i want to stay there long time.

So i have plans ( and 2 mates of me ) to start little buissines.
I have good job here in Germany so money for the start in no problem.

I read that Nicke, stevem and urherman run bars / restaurants.
Can you or others help me to find homepages or any sources where i can find bars/restaurants for sale or rent ??

And when i rent a bar, what is with the profit ?? How many percent get the owner and how many me ??

I bought me books with titles Living, working, investing in Thailand.
I know that isn't easy to do such things but i read about the admanistrative things to do. And i don't want to make big money only living eating and drinking. So this thread is not just for fun.

I would be very grateful if you can give me some advice.
I'm german so sorry for English, maybe bad.

Normally you can not rent bars in Patong, you have to buy leases. Renting bars have been available when an owner have too many empty bars he want to get rid of, but e.g. Tiger is no longer renting out any bars because he want long term contracts.

Every bar is different so it is impossible to tell you how much profit you will get, if any, some bars lose money. But generally speaking it is an advantage to have running the bar for a while, since you get more returning customers.

thanks, buy leases ?? That mean i am not the owner of the bar.
So i pay the owner. But are the girls, music and so on included ?
And how do i know that a bar owner have a bar for leasing ??

Yes the most important thing is the liver pills!!!!! Im in Scotland for a couple of weeks to get away from the drink. Its taken 4 days for my hands to stop shaking

Ha Ha....... Anyone will tell you I am one of the most self controlled clean living guys in Patong......................

Believe it or not compared to Thailand, I dont drink too much in Scotland, usually about once per week as opposed to 12 hours a day 7 days a week in Patong.

But I know what you mean, Scotland does have that rep!!!! From what ive seen the thais are almost as bad.............

I am of Scottish descent on my mothers side of the family , I remember my mum telling me her father once visited some relatives up in bonny scotland, every day for breakfast he was given porridge , with a cup of tea or coffee maybe ? WRONG !!! , Whisky was always the drink served to wash down the early morning porridge.

No problem i had planned on revisting Love bar anyway , as for how much of a scotsman i am ...not at all ...total lightweight when it comes to drinking competitions and i wouldn't even dare take the scots or the irish on

I acutually work with a woman who can drink me under the table , how sad is that ? then again, she could take on most of you as she once went to watch her favourite footie team (Glasgow Celtic) play and drunk 18 pints of Guiness and a fair few chasers too.

But i do like Tequila's , Sambucas ..haven't tried B52's or Nicke's famous black Death but i'm willing to give it a try.

Are you going to be around november 7th onwards ?

Its a bit scary when you have no recollection what you done after doing too many sambuca, B52 etc.... especially when you get the news next day that its not good and no one is speaking to you for about 1 month & gf fcuks to Khon Kaen, or I have to return to Patong as persona non grata

So Ive made a vow not to do them anymore because they make me insane and can never remember anything - a bit scary

I havent had any now for about 6 weeks

when i was in high school, i went my high school's basketball game and we had 4 differnt bottels of booze and we were passing it around. no one asked me for the sambuca and i drank almost the whole bottle. to this day i cant even smell it without gagging! what is fisherman's friend made of. i dont mind those. is there sambuca in black death?

Haha, Sambuca is good in small volumes, e.g. one shot. I udnerstand you feel sick if you drinked that too much. I felt same with Tequila when I was young, couldnt drink Tequila for 5 years without feeling ill.

Fisherman friends is made of ------ Fisherman Friends. A candy from England and sold almost everywhere. Black Death is just vodka together with turkish pepper.

my favorite team is the patriots since i am from boston. i love sundays, i sit in my house, bet a bunch of games and watch football from 1pm-12am, occasionally reading the sunday newspapers. thats my gtreatest fear about staying in LOS for a long time, missing out on nfl, but i guess id cope

so we gonna be on for a decent session then gee?had a good one last time,altho i got a bit of grief when we returned your bar and tuk turned up and i was sat with the girl working your bar who i had bf b4 i hooked up with tuk.oh well.and the second time we all went out i ended up grabbing som,went to tiger club she couldnt get in lol she only looks 16,so we went to taipan where i proceeded to get caught by her friends with som,a brilliant piece of work by me saw everyone believe she was with kev,and i had grabbed her as she slipped.when i got back to the hotel,tuk turned up,with all these messages on her fone from friends,she believed what i said.if she had found out it was som she would of smacked me one,she hates me talking to her.

as for tequilla i love it so i will do your shots

So Black death is basically just a Turkish pepper.. I drink them all the time in a few of the scandinavain owned bars (the P bar on Nanai etc) and my mate makes black Sambuca the same way.. Still not got my lazy ass inot the MTB to introduce myself so still not tried a BD...

Me its Tequilla / whisky / anything going really.. but the Tequilla sold in Thailand is utter shite, even a Cuervo Gold is impossible to get and anything fancy like a triple sec is unheard of.. REAL tequilla is not the paint stripper served up here !!!
